  5. In compliance with Fidonet Echo Policy, the following will be posted at least
  6. once a month.  These rules do not replace any valid Fidonet rules or policy.
  7.  
  8.       ALL USERS WHO POST IN THIS CONFERENCE AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE RULES
  9.       STATED HEREIN AND ALL EXISTING FIDONET RULES AND POLICY.
  10.  
  11. This is the International Fidonet Echomail Conference DESQVIEW.  It is paid for
  12. by individual systems who help distribute it.  Please follow Conference Rules to
  13.  
  14. help keep moving DESQVIEW as cost effective as possible.
  15.  
  16. The Fidonet Echomail Conference DESQVIEW is not owned or operated by Quarterdeck
  17.  
  18. Office Systems.  It is an echomail conference provided by the Fidonet amateur
  19. e-mail network.
  20.  
  21. Discussions are permitted of DESQview, DESQview/X, QEMM, and other Quarterdeck
  22. products, and how to make these powerful tools work on your PC in conjunction
  23. with other programs and hardware.
  24.  
  25. All discussions regarding hardware and software shall be of a technical nature
  26. only and must pertain to the operation or enhancement of a Quarterdeck product.
  27. When a discussion goes beyond this, then either use netmail or another
  28. appropriate conference.
  29.  
  30. No ads are permitted with the exception of topic-related announcements and
  31. notices from DVNET and Quarterdeck.  Other ads (products, services, etc) are
  32. expressly forbidden unless *approved in advance* by the Moderator.
  33.  
  34. Flames or obsenities are not permitted either in posted or quoted form.  Send
  35. complaints to the Moderator.
  36.  
  37. LEAVE MODERATING TO THE MODERATOR.  If you wish to chastise someone, then do it
  38. netmail, or netmail the Moderator for a follow-up.
  39.  
  40. If a Topic or Thread is deemed off-topic by the Moderator, then take any
  41. discussion of such to netmail.
  42.  
  43. Posting "test" messages, shall be considered excessively annoying behavior.
  44.  
  45. If in the message header the "From:" field is an alias, then include your real
  46. name at the bottom of the message.
  47.  
  48. Posting a multi-line or fancy "signature" at the bottom of the message is
  49. considered excessively annoying.
  50.  
  51. When quoting, quote only pertinent information to get the original point
  52. across.  Quoting entire messages, signature/tag/origin lines is considered
  53. excessively annoying behavior.
  54.  
  55. Discussion of routine Fidonet information should be discussed with your SysOp,
  56. not in this conference.
  57.  
  58. Eight-bit ASCII characters (>128) or ASCII control codes are permitted either in
  59.  
  60. the message header, body, or tag/origin line, except in posting screen pastes of
  61.  
  62. DESQview PIFs.
  63.  
  64. Origin lines must follow accepted Fidonet Echomail Policy.
  65.  
  66. Although this is an International conference in nature, ENGLISH is the official
  67. accepted language.
  68.  
  69. This conference may not be ported to any other network without the express
  70. written permission of the Moderator.
  71.  
  72. Questioning Moderator Policy in the DESQVIEW echo shall be considered
  73. excessively annoying.  Please use netmail.  I am always open to discussion of
  74. echo policy and accept suggestions and comments via netmail.
  75.  
  76. The Moderator may take part in active discussion in the echo without necessarily
  77.  
  78. acting in any official capacity, unless the message is signed as:
