BootBox is a utility program used with your offline message
reader, like SLMR or OLX. It reads a message you want to
reply too, and adds a box and message writer identifier
with it.
Here's how to set it up...
Step 1: Copy BOOTBOX.EXE into your mail reader main directory.
My OLX program in in C:\OLX
So I put BootBox.Exe in that directory.
Step 2: Create a batch file to call BootBox and your Editor
TEMPLATE.BAT
C:\OLX\BOOTBOX.EXE C:\OLX
C:\OLX OLXED C:\OLX\REP.MSG
That's it for the batch file.
Step 3: Go into your mail reader and get into the configuration
setup.
PLACE MESSAGE HEADER IN QUOTED REPLY : Answer YES
Next- tell it you want the writer's initials before each
line of the reply and the character separating the
initials from the text to be a ">".
The ">" should then be the third character on each quoted
line, right after the initials.
Step 4: Set the path and name of the ORIGINAL QUOTED FILE to
C:\OLX\REPLY.MSG.
(Make sure the path here is the same as line #2 of your
TEMPLATE.BAT file) the file name won't be in your batch
file though... just the path.)
Step 5: Set the path and name of the FILE TO TAKE REPLY TEXT FROM
to C:\OLX\REP.MSG
(This should match the third line of your TEMPLATE.BAT
file). The path and filename are in your batch file.
You can use any drive or path you want for steps 4 and 5 above,
but the ORIGINAL FILE has to be "REPLY.MSG" and the FILE TO
TAKE REPLY FROM has to be "REP.MSG". If not the program won't
work!
And your path must match the path in the batch file.
Tell your offline reader that the name of your editor is
"TEMPLATE.BAT" so the reader will call the batch file, invoke
BootBox and then your editor.
Once you've done that... it's ready to run.

Responsibility rests with you in setting up this program correctly.
Failure to do so will result in improper operation of your reader.
