  1. This is a Windows 3.1 hypertext version of the NOCCC newsletter,
  2. 'Orange Bytes,' published by the North Orange County Computer 
  3. Club (NOCCC), in California. The files are used in conjunction 
  4. with the Windows 3.1 program 'winhelp.exe'.

  6. These files can be viewed with the Windows Help program, 
  7. winhelp.exe. To use, open the Windows File Manager and double 
  8. click on the file bytew053.hlp.

  10. The electronic 'Orange Bytes' can be viewed with Windows 3.1.
  11.  
  12. This is the first of its kind, as far as the Orange Bytes
  13. is concerned, so I would like some feedback as to how you
  14. like it. I will listen to any suggestions. I would also like
  15. to know how many people are using the electronic 'Orange Bytes.'
  16. You could send me a postcard and let me know which version
  17. of Windows you are using.

  19. Starting with January 1993 the Electronic Orange Bytes will
  20. require the Windows 3.1 winhelp.exe program. This will allow us 
  21. to do more with the Electronic Orange Bytes. Users of Windows 3.0 
  22. may already have the new winhelp.exe. Some applications provide it.
  23. To check which winhelp.exe you are using, at Help's menu bar
  24. select 'Help', then 'About Help.' The version for Help should 
  25. be 3.1xxx. If you need the new WINHELP.EXE, download the file
  26. 'NOCCCLUB.ZIP.' Amoung other things you will get the WINHELP.EXE
  27. version 3.1.

  29. The naming of the Orange Bytes help file has changed. We have a DOS
  30. version now and there must be a way to see the difference in the name
  31. of the ZIP files they come in. That name change is passed on to the
  32. help file itself.

  34. For the Windows version it is: BYTEWMMY.HLP. The 'W' is for Windows.
  35. The 'MM' is the month and 'Y' is the year. That's it.

  37. A couple of changes:

  39. 1. A new Icon.
  40. 2. Under the 'Edit' memnu bar item their is an addition 'Copy Topic.'
  41.    This 'Copy Topic' will copy the current Topic to the Clipboard.
  42.    No need to select text and then copy. Its very fast. If you do
  43.    need to copy the entire Topic use the 'Copy Topic' command.
  44. 3. More graphics. We could have had graphics in earlier versions but
  45.    we didn't. Their was a reason and it had to do with the Help Compiler
  46.    used to create the Help files for Windows version 3.0.
  47. 4. The Button Bar has additional items for your convience.
