  8.                     PREMIUM EXEC AND ULTRACOM 9600 MODEM

  11. PROBLEM:       The modem for the Exec will not sync down to 2400 BAUD while
  12.                communicating with an UltraCom 9600 modem.  The message "no
  13.                carrier" appears on the screen and no connection is made.
  14.  
  15. CAUSE:         The Rockwell modem firmware contains an error, creating this
  16.                condition.
  17.  
  18. SYSTEMS
  19. AFFECTED:      All models of the Premium Exec notebook.
  20.  
  21. SOLUTION:      Replace modem, part number 230175-002 revision C with a
  22.                revision D.
