  8.               AST PREMIUM II 386/33 AND TORUS ETHERNET ADAPTER

  11. PROBLEM:       When using the AST Premium II 386/33 with the Torus Ethernet
  12.                Adapter in a Microsoft LAN Manager 2.X environment, the system
  13.                will fail to map drives or access files on the file server and
  14.                will display the error message "DOS Error 5."
  15.  
  16. CAUSE:         The Torus Ethernet is a bus-mastering card that is not
  17.                compatible with the Premium II, Premium CLEM, and Bravo 486
  18.                series of computers.
  19. AFFECTED
  20. SYSTEMS:       AST  Premium II systems.
  21.                AST Premium CLEM systems.
  22.                AST Bravo 486 systems.
  23.  
  24. SOLUTION:      AST Sustaining Engineering has determined that this problem
  25.                will not be fixed.  AST suggests using an alternate network
  26.                interface card.
