  8.               AST PREMIUM EXEC WITH PC HF WEATHER FAX SOFTWARE

  11. PROBLEM:       Software Systems Consulting (SSC) produces a PC HF Weather Fax
  12.                software package that is incompatible with the core logic used
  13.                in the AST Premium Exec notebooks.  The Western Digital
  14.                WD76C10 device is not unique to AST notebooks.  The PC HF
  15.                Facsimile version 5.0 does not properly display the weather
  16.                satellite images.

  18. CAUSE:         The Western Digital WD76C10 is not compatible with the
  19.                software timing of the Software Systems HF Weather Fax.
  20.  
  21. AFFECTED
  22. SYSTEMS:       All AST Premium Exec notebooks, as well as all other vendors
  23.                notebooks that utilize the Western Digital WD76C10 device.
  24.  
  25. SOLUTION:      There is no solution to this problem.  SSC has agreed to give
  26.                any customers using their software on such a system a refund.
