YODA Help File.
*******************************************************************************
The first two characters in this file are special:
- Each help text must begin with the first character (backslash in this
help file), then the number of the menuitem. The real help
information begins in the next line!
- After each help text there must be the second character (vertical
line in this help file) on the first position of a line.

LOAD MOVIE
This option allows you to
load a movie into memory. You
can't watch a saved film
unless you use this option or
the
PLAY MOVIE FROM FILE
option.
(That one begins to play the
film at once.) After selecting
this point, you must type the
filename in. You can give a
file name consisting "*","?".
See also: the DIRECTORY help
text.
|
\2
SAVE MOVIE
This option allows you to
save a movie from memory to a
disk file. You can't store a
film on disk unless you use
this option!
If you weren't safe enough,
you would be asked if you want
to save the movie you have
created when you want to load
or create a new one.
You can give a file name
consisting "*","?" characters.
See also: the DIRECTORY help
text.
|
\6
DIRECTORY
Using this option, you can
watch the files you want to.
Use these keys:
ENTER: Select file, exit
(It has the same effect as
the ESC key under the
DIRECTORY item, but it
does not under the Load &
Save items.)
ESC: Exit
Arrow keys: Move highlight
PGUP & PGDN: Previous/Next
page
HOME: Go to the first file
END: Go to the last file
<letter key>: Find the first
(or next) file beginning
with this letter.
|
\4
QUIT
When you're tired of this
program or just have to do
something else, you can use
this option to go back to the
DOS prompt.
Pressing key combination
ALT-X is equivalent of
selecting this item.
|
\5
ABOUT...
Selecting this item, you can
get some more information
about the program and the
authors.
|
\7
DELETE OLD FILE
You can delete files with
this option. This is useful
when you have some files that
are no longer important (e.g.
you packed them to an other
file.
After selecting this item,
you have to type the name of
the file. You can use "*" or
"?" for a group of files, as
at the DOS prompt.
|
\41
CLEAR MOVIE MEMORY
Using memory-resident
programs sometimes causes
problems: we use too much
memory, so DOS cannot fit
them in. Try this option to
make more free memory.
When the last created film
hasn't been saved, you will
be asked if doing it or not.
|
\10
PLAY MOVIE FROM MEMORY
Using this option, you can
play the film which is in the
memory. Therefore, before
selecting this option, you
have to create a new film or
load an old one into memory.
After pressing ENTER, the
menu on the left and the icons
on the right will be cleared
and the film will appear on
the screen. It will be played
with a default speed, but you
can modify it with the arrow
keys (Up and Down). When there
is no way more to increase or
decrease the speed, you hear a
bell.
To go back to this menu,
press the ESC key.
|
\11
PLAY MOVIE FROM FILE
Using this option, you can
play a film stored in a disk
file.
After pressing ENTER, give
the name of the file. It will
be loaded into the memory.
After it the menu on
the left and the icons
on the right will be cleared
and the film will appear on
the screen. It will be played
with a default speed, but you
can modify it with the arrow
keys (Up and Down). When there
is no way more to increase or
decrease the speed, you hear a
bell.
To go back to this menu,
press the ESC key.
|
\39
START CREATING
After selecting this option,
the computer begins to create
the film. If something is
wrong or you don't like this
film, you can stop creating by
pressing CTRL-BREAK.
|
\12
DRAW ONLY ONE PHASE
You can check the parameters
by using this option. If
everything is OK, you can
select START CREATING to make
the film.
|
\13
CHANGE MOVIE WINDOW
You can determine the place
of the antenne by using this
option. Use these keys:
ENTER: Set antenne to cursor
INS: Set border line (only
if H-LINES on)
ESC: Back to the menu
Arrow keys: Move cursor
SRCOLL LOCK: Change quick/
slow moving
|
\14
NUMBER OF PHASES
You can determine how many
phases you want.
If you chose a low number,
the film won't be very nice,
but if you chose a too high
number, it'll take a long
time for the computer to make
the whole film.
|
\16
SET/RESET H-LINES
You can decide if there will
be magnetic lines on your next
movie. These lines can be
shown only in the 2-D mode!
|
\17
SET/RESET POYNTING VECTORS
You can decide if there will
be Poynting vectors on your
next movie. These vectors can
be shown only in the 2-D mode!
|
\18
SET DIMENSION
If you select this option,
your next movie will be in
two-dimensional (2-D) viewing.
In this mode there can be
magnetic lines and Poynting
vectors, too.
|
\19
SET DIMENSION 3
If you select this option,
your next movie will be in
three-dimensional (3-D) mode!
In this mode there must not
be magnetic lines and Poynting
vectors.
|
\20
QUARTER 1
In 2-D mode you can set or
reset the quarters. At least
one quarter must be set to be
able to make a real film!
|
\24
MAGNIFY
With this option you can
set how far the antenne should
be. (Or you can set the
frequency, but these two
definitions are equivalent!)
A little number means that
the antenne is far, and a big
number means that the antenne
is near the viewer.
|
\25
DISTANCE
This option doesn't do the
same as the MAGNIFY item. This
one is used by the perspective
drawing.
|
\26
ANGLE
You can set how high the
viewer should be watching the
antenne. A value of 0 means
that the viewer is above the
antenne and a value of 90
means a sidesight.
|
\3
MAGNIFY
With this option you can
set how far the antenne should
be. (Or you can set the
frequency, but these two
definitions are equivalent!)
A little number means that
the antenne is far, and a big
number means that the antenne
is near the viewer.
|
\27
NUMBER OF SECTORS
At 3-D drawing we draw
only some sectors of the 3-D
space. You can chose the
number of them.
|
\28
ROTATED FILM ON
If you set the ROTATED FILM
switch, you will get a very
interesting 3-D film. Its
effect is strange: As if the
viewer went around the antenne
while it is radiating...
|
\29
ROTATED FILM OFF
Having switched off this,
you will get a 3-D film, where
the viewer stays in the same
place all the time.
|
\30
DRAW IN HIGH QUALITY
This option allows you to
select a high drawing quality
but its price is a slower
computing.
|
\31
DRAW IN NORMAL QUALITY
This is default value of the
program: The quality of the
film will be acceptable and
it won't take a long time to
compute all the phases,
either.
|
\32
DRAW IN LOW QUALITY
This option means that the
computer will work very fast
but the quality won't be
guaranteed.
|
\33
NO INDICATOR
You can set an indicator to
show the current phase. It may
be a small, nice clock, a
number or it may be switched
off.
Using this option you
select none.
|
\34
'CLOCK' INDICATOR
You can set an indicator to
show the current phase. It may
be a small, nice clock, a
number or it may be switched
off.
Using this option you select
the clock.
|
\35
'DIGITAL' INDICATOR
You can set an indicator to
show the current phase. It may
be a small, nice clock, a
number or it may be switched
off.
Using this option you select
the number.
|
\36
PLACE INDICATOR
If an indicator is chosen,
you can set its place on the
film. Use these keys:
ENTER: Set indicator to cursor
Arrow keys: Move cursor
SRCOLL LOCK: Change quick/
slow moving
ESC: Back to the menu
|
\37
NUMBER OF E-LINES
You can tell the computer
how many curves per period
there should be on the film.
|
\38
HOW MANY POYNTING-VECTORS?
You can chose how many
Poynting-vectors there should
be on the film.
|
\15
REAL E-LINES ON/OFF
You can decide if there will
be E-lines on your next movie.
|
\40
E-LINE DOTS ON/OFF
It causes a very stange
effect at playing a film
drawed in E-LINE DOTS ON mode.
I can't tell you what it is,
it's worth to try it!
