@0E@Download MegaTERM @0C@Mega@09@TERM@07@ is a GUI type interface for @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@.
This option will allow you to select the protocol
of your choice and download it. @0C@Mega@09@TERM@07@ is
approximately 130k in size.
@0E@Quit MegaDOOR: @07@Return to the BBS.
@0E@ * @07@not available on all CD-ROMs.
@0F@- DOWNLOADING IN MEGADOOR (SINGLE FILES) -@07@
You may download single files with the download command. When using
only the download command you must type in the name of a file to
download. The file must be in the current directory. After a valid
file has been selected @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@ will check your file ratios (if any)
to verify the download is ok. Some sysops may have downloads disabled
for users of your access level. If everything checks out ok you will
be presented with a menu of protocols to use. If Zmodem is available
I'd suggest using it.
@0F@- DOWNLOADING IN MEGADOOR (BATCHED FILES) -@07@
To add a file to the batch queue you have two options:
(1) Use the "add file to batch" option on the main menu. You will
be prompted for the filename. The file must be in the current
directory.
(2) (M)ark a file during a file list or a list of search results.
When marking a file you use the file's number, not it's name.
You may mark more than one file with a single command. To mark
multiple files place a space between each file number you'd
like to add.
To download the batch just use the standard download command. It will
autosense that files are present in the batch and make sure you have
all the proper access for download. A menu of batch protocols will
be presented to you if the download is acceptable. Once again, If
Zmodem is available I'd suggest using it.
The size and approximate time of download for the batch queue is
displayed on the main menu prompt. If no size or time to download is
displayed then the batch queue is empty.
To erase files from the batch queue use the "erase from batch" option.
It will list the files in the queue and you may type a specific number
to eliminate. Only one number may be entered. If you'd like to delete
the whole queue use an exclamation mark (!) instead of a number.
You may also view the current queue with the "show batch" option.
@0F@- FINDING FILES BY NAME -@07@
The file find option in @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@ allows you to search for files
using wildcards. If you were interested in Apogee games you could
search for "#1*.*" (do not type in the quotes). Most of the time
you'll want to search all directories, but file find can be a
quick way to mark all the files belonging to one program by using
file find (on the current directory) and then marking the resulting
files.
@0F@- FINDING FILES BY TEXT -@07@
@0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@'s text or description search allows you to search the
filenames and descriptions for an exact match. It can come in
handy when looking for types of programs, rather than specific
programs. Once again you have the option of searching the current
directory or all directories.
@0F@- HYPER SEARCH -@07@
The hyper search function is probably one of the most useful
features of @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@. Using it you can search CD-ROM's for
words in a logical equation. When using hyper search you are
accessing an index formed from 200-400 megabytes of text. The
hyper index is created by processing all text files inside the
archives on the CD-ROM. In some cases descriptions are also
added to a hyper index. The valid characters in an indexed word
are 'a' through 'z', '0' through '9' and '-'. Words must be at
least 3 characters long. You may specify up to 32 words to search
for. A hyper equation looks like:
(CD-ROM AND MSCDEX) OR GRAPHICS
Parenthesis are used to control the evaluation of the equation and
the operators 'AND' and 'OR' process the matches.
* Warning: Some people report that hyper search does not work.
Usually they have misunderstood what it is and do not
realize that the matches are in the text files, not the
archive name or description. Use the zip view command
in conjuntion with hyper search for the best results!
@0F@- ZIP VIEW -@07@
The zip view command is one of the more useful functions of @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@.
You may read the internal text files of an archive using it. Zip view
is available on the main menu and on the prompt between screens of
filenames. When used off the main menu zip view requires the filename,
when used off the prompt zip view requires the file number.
@0F@- MEGATERM -@07@
Download it. You'll like it. @0C@Mega@09@TERM@07@ is about 130k and should take
less than 10 minutes to download at 2400 baud. It is a text based GUI
for @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@. @0C@Mega@09@TERM@07@ is not Desqview compatible. Read the brief
instructions included in the @0C@Mega@09@TERM@07@ .ZIP file for installation info.
@0F@- ENJOY! -@07@
There are many more features included in @0C@Mega@09@DOOR@07@, but this brief help
file should take care of most of the difficult questions. Thank you
for using our product and please tell a friend!
