- After you have set the MIDI route using the ROUTE gadget, you can use
- this gadget (MIDI IN PORT) when you want to try and GET sysex data from
- your synth. This gadget does everything the ROUTE gadget does except
- bother you with the MIDI route requester.
-
- The MIDI IN PORT gadget is only available when the CREATE DRIVER window
- is displaying the `GET FROM SYNTH' MIDI protocols. Use of this gadget
- requires entry of a MIDI command to GET data and entry of the string
- gadgets found at the far right of the window (Ch Ofst, Chan Mn, Chan
- Mx, Size). Patch # Mn and Mx may also be required if the command to
- GET data contains a "-P".
-
- Click on the MIDI IN PORT gadget after entering the required data, and
- an attempt to get data from your synth will be made. The sysex file
- that is received will be displayed in the `»» Work Area ««' portion
- of the CREATE DRIVER window.
-
- If the entered Size was too small you will not be able to view the
- entire file, if it was too large you will receive a message stating
- that the expected sysex file was not received.
-
- Read the help text for the `»» Work Area ««' gadgets to see how you
- can simplify the driver creation process!
