- Synths may send sysex data in various formats. If your synth uses
- a special format you must use the FILE FORMAT cycle gadget (at the top
- of the window) to indicate which format it is using. This is necessary
- because the file will have to be converted to the standard format before
- it can be used.
-
- This KEYBOARD gadget allows you to try out the different file format
- conversion routines. Whenever the KEYBOARD is displaying, you are
- looking at the raw sysex data that was sent from your synth. Whenever
- the DECODED image is displaying, you are looking at the sysex file after
- it has been converted by the routine specified in the FILE FORMAT cycle
- gadget.
-
- Use of the QUESTION MARK gadgets which calc the NAME and BANK fields
- will require that the sysex data be converted.
-
- Use of the QUESTION MARK gadget which calcs the CHKSUM and DATA offsets
- will require that the sysex data be coded (in the format sent by your
- synth).
