  15. 1.0 Introduction
  16.  
  17. The MGA Distribution Demo is a free running demo,
  18. designed to demonstrate some of the MGA Millenium's
  19. many unique selling features.

  22. 2.0 Running the demo
  23.  
  24. To run the demo, do the following:
  25.  
  26.     - Install the demo as specified in step 4.0
  27.     - Using the MGA Control panel, switch graphics
  28.           modes to 640x480x16, 3D enabled, modeswitch off.
  29.     - Set the Windows Program Manager to Minimize on
  30.       Use (from the options menu).
  31.     - double click the icon created during 
  32.           installation.

  35. 3.0 System Requirements
  36.  
  37. - MGA Millenium (This is necesary, of course)
  38. - 486-66DX2 or better (Pentium for best results)
  39. - x2 CD-ROM (x4 CD-ROM required to play back 30fps
  40.            AVI, rather than 15fps)
  41. - 8Mb RAM ???
  42. - 1.02.24 (or later) MGA Millennium PowerDesk drivers   
  43. - Video for Windows 1.1e (or later) installed

  46. 4.0 Installation procedure
  47.  
  48. CD-ROM installation (DEMO will run from CD-ROM)
  49. (This option needs no hard disk space, but will run 
  50.  slower)
  51.    - From within the Windows Program Manager,
  52.      select FILE, and then select NEW.
  53.    - Next, select PROGRAM ITEM.
  54.    - In the properties dialogue box that comes up,
  55.      type the following for each item, assuming D is
  56.      the letter of your CD drive:
  57.  
  58.      description       --> MGA-DEMO 
  59.      command line      --> D:\MGA-DEMO\MTRUN.EXE MGADEMO.PCD
  60.      working directory --> D:\MGA-DEMO
  61.  
  62.    - Click OK         
  63.  
  64. HARD DISK installation (DEMO will run from HARD DISK)
  65. (This option may run faster, but will require 60Mb of hard
  66.  drive space.)
  67.    - From withing DOS, type the following:
  68.     CD \            {enter}
  69.     MD MGA-DEMO        {enter}
  70.     CD MGA-DEMO        {enter}
  71.     XCOPY D:\MGA-DEMO /s    {enter}
  72.      assuming D id the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

  74.    - From within the Windows Program Manager,
  75.      select FILE, and then select NEW.
  76.  
  77.    - Next, select PROGRAM ITEM.

  79.    - In the properties dialogue box that comes up,
  80.      type the following for each item, assuming D is
  81.      the letter of your CD drive:

  83.      description       --> MGA-DEMO 
  84.      command line      --> C:\MGA-DEMO\MTRUN.EXE MGADEMO.PCD
  85.      working directory --> C:\MGA-DEMO
  86.  
  87.    - Click OK

  89. To then run the demo, double-click on the newly created
  90. icon.

  93. 5.0 Common Problems:
  94.  
  95. - Demo won't run at all    - If Windows is installed in a
  96.      directory other than c:\WINDOWS, or if the MGA
  97.     drivers are installed in a directory other than 
  98.     c:\MGA, you will need to copy the MTRUN.EXE, 
  99.     MGADEMO.PCD and MGADEMO.INI file to a directory
  100.     on the hard disk, and modify the INI file to 
  101.         point to the appropriate directory.
  102.  
  103. - AVI won't play back - Make sure Video for Windows is
  104.         installed.
  105.  
  106. - 3D demo won't run - Make sure the MGA Control Panel has
  107.     mode one set up for 640x480x16, 3D enabled.
