  6. Welcome to the Babel system!

  8. This file contains the distribution guide for version 3.5 of the Babel
  9. system.

  11. The Babel system supports multilingual typesetting.
  12. This version of the Babel system is compatible with LaTeX2e.
  13. Whenever the instructions talk about LaTeX, read LaTeX2e.

  15. This system is maintained by Johannes Braams in cooperation with
  16. various people around Europe.
