  31. DESCRIPTION

  33.     AmyBoard is a graphical chessboard, that can serve as a user
  34.     interface for GNU Chess, for the ICS (Internet Chess Server) and
  35.     for itself as a PGN (Portable Game Notation) file editor. The
  36.     original xboard can also be used for electronic mail
  37.     correspondence chess, but this possibility is not yet integrated
  38.     into AmyBoard, as this requires cmail, which is a Perl script.

  40.     As an interface to GNU Chess, AmyBoard lets you play a game
  41.     against the machine, set up arbitrary positions, force variations,
  42.     or watch a game between two machines.

  44.     As an interface to the Internet Chess Server (ICS), AmyBoard
  45.     lets you play against other ICS users, observe games they are
  46.     playing, or review games that have recently finished.
  47.  
  48.     You can also use AmyBoard as a chessboard to play through games.
  49.     It will read and write game files and allow you to play through
  50.     variations manually. You can use it to browse games off the net
  51.     or review GNU Chess, ICS, and correspondence games you have saved.
  52.     These features are available at all times; even if you do not have
  53.     access to GNU Chess or the ICS.
