  1. Installation Instructions for DTC Windows Driver
  2. for Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11
  3. ================================================

  5. 1. Copy the file WINEIDE.386 into the C:\WINDOWS directory of your harddisk.
  6.

  8. 2. Modify the file, SYSTEM.INI located in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  9.    Locate the section [Enh386].  If 32-Bit Disk access is already enabled 
  10.    on your system, you will need to disable the WDCTRL Driver and enable 
  11.    the DTC Windows driver as follows:

  13.         32BitDiskAccess=on
  14.         device=*int13
  15.         ;device=*wdctrl
  16.         device=wineide.386
  17.    
  18.    If 32BitDiskAccess is not currently enabled on your system, then add 
  19.    the following 3 lines to the [Enh386] section:
  20.         
  21.         32BitDiskAccess=on
  22.         device=*int13
  23.         device=wineide.386

  26. 3. DO NOT LOAD THE DOS DRIVER DTC2278.SYS, DTC2270.SYS, DTC2290.SYS OR
  27.    DOSEIDE.SYS IN CONFIG.SYS IF YOU WANT TO USE THE DTC WINDOWS DRIVER!

  30. 4. If you have properly installed the DTC Windows driver, you should 
  31.    briefly see the DTC Windows Driver banner when you start Windows.
