Signal used by a device, such as a mouse, to inform the CPU that it is present and functioning.Jumper: A small plastic plug that fits over a pair of pins. When the plug straddles two pins it makes an electrical connection. The computer makes decisions based on whether the connection is made or not. A group of jumper pins is called a jumper block.
