268Actinic Keratoses, or Solar Keratoses--Gritty, scaly, gray-to-dark-pink patches on the face, scalp, and back of hands. They have a sandpaper-like surface that is more felt than seen. Probable cause: long-term, excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation in sunlight.
