  1.  304A hydrocele is a generally harmless but abnormal accumulation of watery fluid within the scrotum; the condition usually requires no treatment. A varicocele is a swelling within the scrotum due to a malfunction in varicose, or enlarged, veins. To prevent infertility, this condition may require treatment.
