337Psoriasis--Common skin disease characterized by flare-ups and partial remissions. Sometimes portions of the skin are covered with dry, red patches with silvery scales. These lesions may itch. Small, scaling dots may also be present. Most common sites are the trunk, knees, elbows, and scalp. Pits or ridges may develop in the nails.
