Transcription: In the mid-1950s, stereoscopes were mass-produced for the first time. In 1956, the company Mattel produced a stereoscope that became a million-seller under the name View-Master. Here, stereo prints were laid side by side on a paperback circle and inserted into the View-Master. Using this method, the viewer could run off mini slideshows in 3D. The motifs were usually famous sights in far-off lands.
