  1. Welcome to MIDI Station Sequencer Beta version 1.5

  5.    This is a beta version of the sequencer and therefore is not feature complete.  There are 
  6.    a few issues that have to be resolved such as:
  7.  
  8.     1) Track looping has been disabled but will be restored in the final version.
  9.         2) The bars view just shows a blank window - this will be resolved in the final 
  10.            version.
  11.         3) The sample rhythm files are not included in the beta.
  12.         4) Audio sequencing is not enabled.  The logic is in place you just can't see it yet!
  13.         5) The online documentation hasn't been updated.

  15. ThetaBand Software
  16.  
  17.    ThetaBand has made great strides in providing MPU compatibility with many more soundcards
  18.    than was previously available.  Using their MPU driver users who have Creative Labs Soundblaster
  19.    cards should be able to use MIDI Station Sequencer.  The problem with Soundblaster cards was 
  20.    that the drivers grabbed all of the resources for the card and wouldn't let anything else
  21.    interact with it.  But now ThetaBand's MPU driver has a feature called "IRQ Less" recording.
  22.    What this means is that the MPU driver dosen't need to grab an IRQ in order for it to be able
  23.    to interact with a Soundlbaster card, which was the problem previously, hence now giving you
  24.    RTMIDI compatability.

  26.    So in conclusion if you want to use MIDI Station Sequencer with a Creative Labs card subscribe
  27.    to ThetaBand's MM-Pack!! You'll be glad you did.  Their website is http://www.thetaband.com.

  31.    MIDI Station Sequencer uses the RTMIDI subsystem for its playback and recording of
  32.    sequences.  Therefore you MUST have a RTMIDI compatable soundcard/driver in order
  33.    to use this program.  If you do not please read the accompanying MSTATSEQ.HLP file under
  34.    System Requirements - Setting up your soundcard for information on how to get your system
  35.    RTMIDI compatable.

  37.    This program also uses the new high-resolution timer so there are a few things that you
  38.    should be aware of:
  39.  
  40.     1) When using this program you should not use any Windows and/or DOS programs
  41.     2) The minimum configuration that will give back acceptable performance is a
  42.        Pentum 133 with 32M of RAM.

  44. Installing the program:
  45.  
  46.    1) Unzip this file into a directory
  47.           (Obviously you've already done that since you're reading this!)
  48.    2) Type install
  49.    3) You will be prompted to enter a path where the program will reside
  50.    4) The installation routine will create a folder and program objects for you.
  51.    5) You must manually copy the AUDIO.DLL file to a directory in your libpath such as 
  52.       your x:\OS2\DLL directory where x is your drive.

  55. Troubleshooting and Technical Issues

  57.    If you need help getting your system to be RTMIDI compatable, please READ the included
  58.    MSTATSEQ.INF file.  It contains many suggestions and ways of getting your system ready.
  59.    If after doing this nothing works - send me some email at: cdhodge@ibm.net. I've probably
  60.    encountered the same problem and can help you with it.  Also take a look at my website -
