- Welcome to MIDI Station Sequencer Beta version 1.5
-
- Update
-
- This is a beta version of the sequencer and therefore is not feature complete. There are
- a few issues that have to be resolved such as:
-
- 1) Track looping has been disabled but will be restored in the final version.
- 2) The bars view just shows a blank window - this will be resolved in the final
- version.
- 3) The sample rhythm files are not included in the beta.
- 4) Audio sequencing is not enabled. The logic is in place you just can't see it yet!
- 5) The online documentation hasn't been updated.
-
- ThetaBand Software
-
- ThetaBand has made great strides in providing MPU compatibility with many more soundcards
- than was previously available. Using their MPU driver users who have Creative Labs Soundblaster
- cards should be able to use MIDI Station Sequencer. The problem with Soundblaster cards was
- that the drivers grabbed all of the resources for the card and wouldn't let anything else
- interact with it. But now ThetaBand's MPU driver has a feature called "IRQ Less" recording.
- What this means is that the MPU driver dosen't need to grab an IRQ in order for it to be able
- to interact with a Soundlbaster card, which was the problem previously, hence now giving you
- RTMIDI compatability.
-
- So in conclusion if you want to use MIDI Station Sequencer with a Creative Labs card subscribe
- to ThetaBand's MM-Pack!! You'll be glad you did. Their website is http://www.thetaband.com.

- Introduction
-
- MIDI Station Sequencer uses the RTMIDI subsystem for its playback and recording of
- sequences. Therefore you MUST have a RTMIDI compatable soundcard/driver in order
- to use this program. If you do not please read the accompanying MSTATSEQ.HLP file under
- System Requirements - Setting up your soundcard for information on how to get your system
- RTMIDI compatable.
-
- This program also uses the new high-resolution timer so there are a few things that you
- should be aware of:
-
- 1) When using this program you should not use any Windows and/or DOS programs
- 2) The minimum configuration that will give back acceptable performance is a
- Pentum 133 with 32M of RAM.
-
- Installing the program:
-
- 1) Unzip this file into a directory
- (Obviously you've already done that since you're reading this!)
- 2) Type install
- 3) You will be prompted to enter a path where the program will reside
- 4) The installation routine will create a folder and program objects for you.
- 5) You must manually copy the AUDIO.DLL file to a directory in your libpath such as
- your x:\OS2\DLL directory where x is your drive.
-
-
- Troubleshooting and Technical Issues
-
- If you need help getting your system to be RTMIDI compatable, please READ the included
- MSTATSEQ.INF file. It contains many suggestions and ways of getting your system ready.
- If after doing this nothing works - send me some email at: cdhodge@ibm.net. I've probably
- encountered the same problem and can help you with it. Also take a look at my website -
- it has the most current configuration/setup problems and solutions.
-
-
- Enjoy!!!
