  18. This is CZPHONIX - a new Casio CZ101/1000/230S patch librarian and editor.
  19. Unlike most of the other MIDI public domain/shareware software out there,
  20. CZPHONIX is QUALITY software.  You'll see...

  24. WHY DID I DO IT?
  25.  
  26. I was approached by a few companies who were interested in marketing CZPHONIX.
  27. They each thought that it should be sold for about $50 in light of CZAndroid
  28. and Dr. T's package.  I felt that MIDI software is too expensive and that more
  29. people would get involved with computers and music if the prices were afford-
  30. able.  Also, I truly believe that people will pay for inexpensive quality
  31. software, but have a tendency to steal the expensive stuff (especially for
  32. home use).  None of the companies would listen and most walked away...

  38. CZPHONIX version 1.3 is public domain software that gives you an option.
  39. Call it Optionware...  Try it, use it, distribute it, keep it, destroy it,
  40. do whatever you want.  If you need it and can make use of it, you'll know;
  41. if you can't use it, then the price you paid was well spent.  Now for the
  42. option:  If you really like it and want future enhancements, send a check

  50. CZPHONIX version 2.1 is currently being worked on.  This version will contain
  51. enhancements and bug fixes (although there are no known bugs at this point).
  52. The enhancements include:

  54.           o  Graphic drawing/editing of envelopes
  55.           o  Color/dash pattern graphic overlay of envelopes
  56.           o  Safety features before data loss
  57.           o  MIDI channel selection
  58.           o  Minimum of 5 full patch-banks of 16 patches
  59.              (many more patches will be provided if acquired - see below)

  61. CZPHONIX version 2.1 will be completed by Fall, 1987, and will be sold commer-
  62. cially for $24.95.  If you purchase the optionware copy by October 31, 1987,
  63. you will receive a full release of CZPHONIX 2.1 for free, including software,
  64. manual, and patch-banks.

  91. generosity has its limits.
