  7.                    Note:  <CR> = Carriage Return or Enter key

  10. When accessing GEnie via DATAPAC, you will incur a $6.00(C) per connect
  11. hour communications surcharge.  This surcharge applies to all GEnie
  12. usage, including your first four hours.
  13.     
  14. To access GEnie via DATAPAC, please follow these instructions:
  15.             
  16.        
  17. 1.  Dial the local DATAPAC access number. (Note:  Access numbers are
  18.     available through your local telephone directory under the heading
  19.     "DATAPAC PUBLIC DIAL PORT"
  20.           
  21. 2.  Upon connection, type two periods (..) and enter a CARRIAGE RETURN
  22.     or ENTER key.  For example:
  23.          
  24.         CONNECT 2400
  25.         ..<CR>
  26.              
  27. 3.  When you see DATAPAC: #### #### please follow these instructions:
  28.     (Please note:  The 8-digits following the DATAPAC: prompt are not
  29.     constant.  The digits will vary with each access).
  30.                     
  31.     a.  If your home is in Eastern Canada and your area code is 416,
  32.         418, 506, 514, 519, 613,705, 709, 807, 819, 902:
  33.            
  34.         TYPE: 95700517<CR> 
  35.       
  36.         For example:

  42.     b.  If your home is in Western Canada and your area code is 204,
  43.         306, 403, 604:

  53. 4.  GEnie sends the U#= prompt.  Type your GEnie User ID#, a comma, and
  54.     your GEnie password (with no space after the comma)
