- Main Passage - Take south door.
- Lesser Pit Room - Sidle around pit and take E door.
- Side Chamber - Pick up the stones, then jump to work lever. Pass through the
- opening in the bars. Go down the stairs.
- Gaolers Stair - There is a bag of throwing stones hidden behind the barrels.
- Return to Side Chamber.
- Side Chamber - Take door to W.
- Visitors Gaol - Try to take out the spiders with the throwing stones. Use
- the lever to raise a bar and take the key and shirikan. Take south door.
- Court Hall - Use the key in the lock. Continue south.
- High Court - Open chest. Take Stamina Potion and Dispell Trap Spell. Pull
- the lever on the floor. Head south.
- Royal Court - Take key and candle. Get message from man on throne. Return
- to Gaolers Stair. Take N door.
- Gaol - Use key in lock on N wall. Return to High Court.
- High Court - Drop into pit.
- Royal Gaol - Take crown. Open strongbox to get Confusion Spell. Unlock door.
- Return to Royal Court.
- Royal Court - 'Feed' crown to man. Note monologue and take Serpent Key. Go
- to High Court.
- High Court - Take east door.
- Guests Hall - Be sure to walk down the strip of small blocks in the center!
- Use the Serpents Key in the keyhole. Continue east.
- Ante Room - Continue east.
- Royal Maze - Take steps to east to enter rock area. Try to time the rocks!
- Continue east to next room. Go up steps and through door to north. Grab the
- Unknown Potion. Head west to next room (with 4 spread rings on floor). Take
- left steps on W wall. Open the strongbox to get a key. Take door to south.
- Take steps to east. Go east two rooms. Use key to lower platform. Go up
- steps and through W door. Pick up the handle. Return through door to east.
- Go up the steps and through the door on N wall; return W to room with
- spread rings on floor. Take N door in NW corner; then take W door. You are
- now in a room with a single ring on the floor. Put the handle in the N wall
- switch and use it. Then pull the switch on the west wall. Take the adjacent
- door to the south. In the corridor are two bottles. One has a key in it.
- Drink this one to get the key. Now pile two disposable objects on the floor
- in front of the barrier (like a tome and the other bottle). Jump onto
- these, then onto the barrier. Drop down the S side, get the candle, and
- continue south. Return to the room with the single ring. Open the
- chest and complete your set of four candles. Take the center door in the S
- wall. Pull the floor lever and quickly exit through the east door. You
- are now back in the room with four spread rings. Put a candle in each
- ring. The candles light when you are on target. Take the west door in
- the NW corner. Grab the gold and head north. You're back in the room with
- the single ring. Take the steps to the east. Go through the corridor;
- you're now in a room with four close rings on the floor. Step onto the
- rings; you are transported back to the spread ring room. There is now
- a chest here. Avoid the trap and get gold and a ring. Return to the room
- with the four close rings. Now take the center door in the west wall. Push
- the righthand button. Go south, then east. Push the button in this room.
- Take the Emerald, then open the casket to get a key (keep the casket).
- Go north, back to the room with the four close rings. Take the steps in the
- SE corner. Take the bowl of herbs and unlock the south door. Return to the
- corridor with the barrier and jump over it again. Return to the Royal Court.
- Royal Court - Drop the herbs into the brazier; receive a Boar Key. Head back
- to the Side Chamber.
- Side Chamber - Here you must hit the switch with a stone to get through the
- bars. Continue to Main Passage.
- Main Passage - Use the Boar Key here. Head west.
- Royal Hall - You must chase down and collect the moving coins. But the green
- ball on the wall is a timer! You must prevent it from reaching the bottom
- of the slot by jumping up and down on the center floor tile. When the last
- coin is collected, you are awarded two Emeralds. Continue west through the
- doors, but save first - this one is difficult. Walk through the right door
- with a stone ready to throw. Stop on the E edge of the large tile. Now
- throw the stone. It should land on the wooden track the large rock is
- rolling along. This will prevent the rock from hitting the 'hurt' button.
- Throw two more stones onto the track, and the rock will drop into the hole.
- This will clear the way for you to proceed. Collect the stones and throw
- the lever on the west wall. Take the west door.
- Great Kitchen - Take the roast chicken. Open the right-hand cabinet. Take the
- rye bread; eat the round loaf to find some gold. Exit to south.
- Store Passage - Take east door.
- Meat Store - Take the rock and return to Store Passage.
- Store Passage - Take west door.
- Royal Cellar - Note that barrels are hiding objects. Move the strongbox under
- the round hole in the wall. Climb onto the strongbox to load the rock into
- the hole. Move a barrel to the center of the large tile in the SE corner
- of the room. Pull the lever to release the rock. Repeat until you have the
- contents of all the barrels. Keep the rock when you're done. Exit east.
- Store Passage - Take south door.
- Wood Store - Use the key in the lock on the west wall. Climb on a barrel to
- load the rock into the hole you made. Check out the bowl; a key is under
- it. Open the chest and take the four sticks of kindling. Slide the barrels
- out of the way of the switch on the east wall and throw it. Return to the
- Meat Store.
- Meat Store - Take the boars head, then check out the barrel it was on. You'll
- find some rotten meat. Go ahead and eat it...you'll get a key. This will
- open the strongbox in the Royal Cellar.
- Royal Cellar - In the strongbox you find a token, a Massacre Spell and some
- Stamina Potion. Return to the Meat Store.
- Meat Store - Use the Massacre Spell on the spider. There is now a key in
- the barred area. Carefully use some kindling to push it out to where you
- can reach it. Return to the Royal Cellar.
- Royal Cellar - The key will unlock the south door.
- Potion Store - Another good place for a save. Open the strongbox to get three
- Unknown Potions. On the floor is a Return Life to the Dead Potion, and a
- couple of Stamina Potions. Use the token in the wall slot to unlock the
- door. Now for the tricky part. Drag the strongbox to the south wall, near the
- center. Climb up onto the strongbox. Now timing is critical! Throw your three
- remaining food objects onto the north balcony, but throw when the rock is
- on the west end. If you do this correctly, the rock will push the objects
- to the east end while moving farther west itself. After the third item
- the rock will turn the corner and knock the barrel off of the balcony.
- Examine the barrel to collect the Nodos Potion. Return to the Royal Court.
- Royal Court - Drop the Nodos into the brazier. Collect Intricate Royal Key.
- Take west door.
- West Passage - Head south.
- Square Chamber - Here is the lock that this key fits. Save then go west.
- Golden Hall - Do you still have a stick of kindling? Drop it on the stakes
- so you can cross safely. Continue west.
- Ward Room - This room is timed! Step on the large tile on the west center of
- the floor, then run up the steps and through the west door.
- Guards Room - Move quickly to minimize rock damage. Check out the barrel to
- get some more throwing stones. Open the chest for a Strength Potion and a
- Dispell Trap Spell. Return to Ward Room.
- Ward Room - Speed out the south door.
- Treasurers Hall - Go up the tall staircase and push the strongbox off of the
- platform. Return to the floor to open the strongbox, and get the fourth
- Emerald and a Shirikan. Place the Emeralds in the hexagonal holes in the
- floor. Exit via the steps to the east.
- Golden Hall - Don't panic! Go ahead and let the rock drop. Take a few of the
- pieces. Walk slowly out the door to the south.
- The Crusher - Walk a short ways out onto the catwalk. Stop and drop a stone.
- Continue to the south end of the walk. Quickly throw another stone at the
- lever on the west wall. Go south as soon as the lever releases!
- The Flailer - Throw the lever next to the north door. Now you don't have to
- worry about the rocks, only the flailer. Time it and continue south.
- The Rider - Ride the platform to the lever on the west wall. Throw it and
- continue to south on catwalk.
- Last Chamber - You simply jump over this flailer. Exit south.
- Great Treasury - Save here; lots of running and dodging. Climb the stairs.
- Upper Treasury - You'll have to do everything here as quickly as possible,
- since it's a very unhealthy place. Start by untrapping and opening the
- strongbox at the top of the stairs. You'll have to keep ducking up and down
- the stairs to avoid being sliced up by the Shirikans. Pick up everything
- that the strongbox held. Grab the casket to the north of the stairway. Now
- run along the outside of the two pits and grab everything along their
- edges; move quickly to take as few hits as possible while you do this. Jump
- down the SW pit when you have everything.
- Great Treasury - Drop to the floor and loot the three caskets you now have.
- One is trapped. You can now untrap and open the remaining chest and
- strongbox in the Upper Treasury.
- Upper Treasury - Clean out the chest and strongbox, then drop through the
- SW pit.
- Great Treasury - Take the key from the platform. Pull the lever and jump off
- pronto. Take the west door at floor level.
- Helms Treasury - You'll have to drop five items down the hole to get the
- floor in front of the lock to close. Drag the chest over so you can reach
- it. Unlock the north door and head out.
- Lords Treasury - This is a trap! Anything you pick up will disappear after
- you leave the room, and you must beat the timer to escape. Just go for the
- east door and don't look back.
- Last Chamber - Zip right on through to the east.
- Axels Treasury - Untrap and open the chest for some goodies. Next pull the
- floor switch. Then pull the two switches on the north wall - pull the right
- one first. Watch out for the rocks! Take a drink of Shot Shield Potion
- before you go through the north door.
- The Slicer - You must pull the four switches in counterclockwise order,
- starting in the NE corner. Then take the west door.
- The Rider - Pull the lever on the west wall and take that door.
- Small Room - Pull the lever and then quickly use your last key in the lock.
- Exit to the north.
- Cannon Room - You must ride the moving platform over the rocks. Study the
- flailers. They move in a pattern. When you think you have it figured out,
- take the platform to the north end of the room and jump down. Make your
- way out the east door.
- The Flailer - Pull the lever to raise the platform. Jump on the platform as
- it rises. If you stand on exactly the right spot on the platform, you can
- jump over that barrier and onto the catwalk. Jump down and exit east.
- No Name - Take a Speed Potion, and exit north.
- Great Chamber - Jump over the pit to get the key, then dodge back into the
- no name room.
- No Name - Open the strongbox and get another key. Pull the lever on the west
- wall, then return to Great Chamber.
- Great Chamber - Jump over that pit again. Now turn the corner and head for
- the keyhole. Unlock it and get the handle. Return to the no name room.
- No Name - Put the handle in the slot on the north wall and use it. Back to
- the Great Chamber!
- Great Chamber - Go up the center of the room to the east wall and pull the
- lever. Now do an end run around the stakes and take the north door.
- Lesser Treasury - Another timed room. You must throw the lever,untrap and
- open the strongbox and grab everything on the floor to be sure of getting
- what you need. Race back out to the Great Chamber.
- Great Chamber - Take the west door.
- The Crusher - Go up the steps; put the token in the slot so you may exit west.
- Treasurers Hall - Return to the Golden Hall.
- Golden Hall - Use the key to return to the Royal Court.
- Royal Court - Drop the bag of powder into the brazier and collect the Key of
- Peace and Brotherhood. Exit to east.
- East Passage - Head south.
- Diplomats Lobby - Use the Peace and Brotherhood Key. Head east.
- Diplomats Hall - Grab the key and exit east.
- Nations Hall - Discard the casket with the red herring. The key you picked
- up will open the other one and you'll get a Read Magic Spell. Exit north.
- Vanlands Hall - Drag the single barrel under the shield. Climb onto it and
- check the shield; you'll find a key. After the ram skull is shot from the
- rock hole, push the other two barrels over to block the rocks. Take the
- skull and go upstairs.
- Upper Chamber - Take the candle and the wand. Open the chest. Use the Read
- Magic Spell on the Unknown Spell you find. Take the casket and the Wine of
- the Gods. Return to Nations Hall.
- Nations Hall - Disarm the trap on the casket and open it. Use the key in the
- lock on the west wall. Take the door to the east.
- Southern Hall - Drag the chest to the west end of the platform. Pull the
- lever to operate the elevator. After the chest disappears, follow it up.
- Matils Chamber - Collect the coins and the wand hidden under the armor. Use
- the Unlock Chest spell on the chest. You discover a Heavy Brass Key and
- a Silver Triangle - a religious symbol. Under the pillow is a special
- casket. Use this casket to tranform the Heavy Brass Key into a common key.
- Return to Nations Hall.
- Nations Hall - (south) Drop a bag of stones in front of the Gargoyle with
- the key, far enough from him so that his stones do not reach you. Climb
- onto the bag and use 11 shots from Laguna's Wand to remove the Gargoyle.
- Grab the key. Use the key you transformed to unlock Halusas Hall to the
- south. Be sure not to use all the shots on a Wand! You will need all the
- wands soon!
- Halusas Hall - Open the strongbox and get the Giant Jump Potion. Take the
- book as well. Now pushing the button selects which platform the lever
- controls. You want to form a staircase by sliding the three lower platforms
- to the appropriate 'stop' positions. Manipulate the button and the lever
- until you can jump up to the top.
- Halluss Chamber - Open the strongbox to get a Massacre Spell and a Read
- Language Spell. Read the book you picked up. Get the Bejeweled Casket and
- read the note before you pick up the handle. Drop the Holy Sign into the
- triangular hole to get the third Wand. Return to the Southern Hall.
- Southern Hall - Drop Durrigan's Wand onto the pedestal nearest the door,
- Matil's in the center, and Laguna's farthest from the door. A trapped
- casket will drop from the ceiling. Obtain a key from it.
- Nations Hall - (south) Now put the Handle in the slot nearest the Gargoyle
- Platform. This lever unlocks the Eastmarch Hall, across the Nations Hall
- from you.
- Eastmarch Hall - You should save here; this part is difficult. Use two of
- those handy stone bags. Drop them to the west of the high platform, then
- climb onto them and then swig the Giant Jump Potion to jump up and throw
- that lever. This sets the floor in place in the Upper Stair Room. Once
- the lever is thrown, jump down. Now you must set your timing and climb to
- the top of the vanishing steps.
- Upper Stair - Use the key from the Southern Hall casket to unlock the door.
- Upper Chamber - Here you make your offerings to the gods. The colored stones
- correspond to the colors of the respective objects to be dropped into the
- outside holes. Drop the four objects listed in the Black Book into their
- holes. An Enchant Liquid Spell rises from the center hole. This is what
- you're after! Return to the Diplomats Hall.
- Diplomats Hall - Use the Wand with the Unlock Door Spell. Don't stand too
- close to the door, or the spell will not work! On to the Royal Court.
- Royal Court - Cast the Enchant Liquid Spell on the Cauldron. Now you get a
- key with the emblem of the Royal Guard, and are told to fetch a chalice
- from the Old Guards Quarters. The door is off the West Passage.
- West Passage - Unlock NW Door.
- Guard Post - Ready a bag of throwing stones, then go through the next door.
- Passage - Dart between a pair of stakes as soon as you enter. Then you can
- work your way close to the lower guard. Step out, pump a few stones into
- him, then step back before he bowls you one. A few rounds of this and
- he'll be out of your way. Now you can enter the next door.
- Guards Shrine - You must kill the two Gargoyles here. Use the Massacre Spell
- to take out the first one. You can then climb onto the empty pedestal and
- use standard weapons on the other. Take the key that was under the wooden
- slab. Throw the lever before you leave; this unlocks a door to the Guards
- Hall, which you'll visit soon. Return out the Passage to the Guard Post.
- Guard Post - Use the key to unlock the door to the West Passage. This action
- also unlocks the door to another Guard Post elsewhere. Return to the Royal
- Court, then head N through the High Court to the Court Hall.
- Court Hall - That door on the west wall is now unlocked. Take it!
- Guard Post - Continue on through.
- Muster Room - You need the key on the platform with the single guard. Time
- the rocks, and go halfway up the stairs. Here you can run up, snipe at the
- guard, then run down to safety. Repeat until the key is yours. Jump down and
- unlock the west door.
- Royal Armoury - Again, you must kill the two Gargoyles to raise the slab.
- Just do what worked the first time! Take the two keys with you through the
- door behind the slab (this is what the lever in the Guards Shrine unlocked).
- Guards Hall - Go ahead and kill the volcanoes. Then use the two keys you
- picked up on those two locks and take the west door.
- Guards Kitchen - There's a key under the pillow. Head south.
- Royal Armoury - Untrap and open the chest. It contains a Poltergeist Spell
- and a Magic Missile Spell. Use all three charges on the Poltergeist Spell;
- the third one removes the strongbox from the holding pen. Return to the Guards
- Hall and head south. Don't worry about the paper in the holding pen; it's a
- holiday accomodation voucher. Check the Cadaver game box for the joke
- reference.
- Guards Hall (south) - You noticed the armor was transported to the circle in
- the Kitchen, and here is the bowl. Where did the strongbox go? It went to
- a third red circle, back in the Maze. But first you have to get out of the
- Old Guards Quarters. The key you need is within the four pillars. This
- unlocks the east door. Time the stones, grab the key, and exit east.
- Guards Shrine - From here go back to the Royal Court and on to the High Court.
- High Court - Go east into the Guests Hall, continue through the Ante Room,
- and into the Royal Maze.
- Royal Maze - Go east to the room with the three doors. Take the NW door.
- Turn west to the room where you left the four candles. Take the door at
- the north end of the west wall, then the door on the north wall. Here's
- the strongbox. Inside is the King's Silver Chalice. The quickest exit
- is up the SW stairway, then over the barrier. Return west to the High Court,
- then south to the Royal Court.
- Royal Court - From the platform, drop the Chalice into the Cauldron. Retrieve
- it and serve it to the man on the throne. For this you will receive a key
- with a picture of a large spider on it. Head north through the High Court,
- Court Hall, then east from the Visitors Gaol. Take the stairs down from
- the Side Chamber. Head north from the Gaolers Stair.
- Gaol - Here are collected many items you dropped in this Level. Take the west
- door.
- Spiders Lair - You can now unlock the west door.
- Secret Stair - On to Level 4! You only get to keep spells and potions that
- are in small round flasks. So be sure to drink any stamina potions in
- odd-shaped bottles.
