  1. CP/M disks use a completely different format from TOS disks.  In 
  2. order to begin using ST CP/M, you must use the MAKE_ME utility to 
  3. create a CP/M format disk which includes two important utilities: 
  4. INIDSK, which formats additional CP/M disks, and TOSCPM, which 
  5. lets you move files from TOS format disks to CP/M format disks.
  6.  
  7. First follow the directions for MAKE_ME.TOS below.  Then run the 
  8. CPMZ80.TOS program to enter CP/M.  Finally, use the TOSCPM utility 
  9. to copy the remaining CP/M utilities onto the CP/M disk.

  11. You MUST be in medium resolution (color) or high resolution 
  12. (monochrome) to use ST CP/M.  Low resolution will not work.

  15.                          MAKE_ME DIRECTIONS
  16.

  18.       1) Prepare a BLANK single sided Formatted disk.
  19.       2) Insert the disk containing Make_Cpm and the CPM data file
  20.          into DISK DRIVE A.
  21.       3) Click on the Make_Cpm icon to run the program.
  22.       4) When prompted, INSERT the BLANK disk into 
  23.          DISK DRIVE A.
  24.       5) When completed, you will now have a CP/M formatted disk
  25.          to run with the emulator.

  27.       NOTE: There are several things that you should do before 
  28.             experimenting with the CP/M emulator.
  29.  
  30.       1) Prepare several new CP/M formatted disks.
  31.          To do this, run INIDSK <diskdrive>
  32.  
  33.          At the prompt, INSERT a BLANK formatted disk into the 
  34.          drive that you specified and press return.
  35.  
  36.          You now have a new CP/M formatted disk!

  38.       2) Copy the TOS format CP/M files to your working CP/M
  39.          disks using TOSCPM.
  40.  
  41.          The format is: TOSCPM <tosfile> <cpmfile>

  43.       3) Upon completion, you should put away the MAKE_CPM disk
  44.          and also the PSUEDO CP/M disk that was created.
  45.  
  46.          From now on, you should only use your 'genuine' CP/M disks.
