  1. It is possible to use the capture feature of a program like Flash
  2. to get a list of files off of GEnie and put them into Data Handler.
  3. This then allows you to find your favorite authors newest program,
  4. find the most downloaded program, search for any word in the
  5. list, or many other uses.

  7. While on GEnie, use the library option #2, Directory of files, or
  8. option #11, Directory of new files, and save in a capture buffer the 
  9. list.  Name it a .TXT file name.
  10.  
  11. Run the program GECONVTR.PRG (compiled GFA) or use the source code
  12. GECONVTR.GFA with GFA 3.0.  It will ask for the .TXT file that you
  13. captured.  The program looks for the correct format of the Directory
  14. listing.  All other text is ignored.  It will then ask you if you
  15. want to save the records to a new .TXT file or append the records onto 
  16. an existing .DB file.  Make the option you want and the records will
  17. be saved.

  19. GE_MASTR.DB  is a .DB file defined with the correct fields for the
  20. Genie Directories with no records in it.  You can use this for
  21. appending records.

  23. GE_LIB2.DB is a data base of all the files in the library #2,
  24. UTILITIES, that have been uploaded in the past year.
  25.  
  26. GE_LIB3.TXT is the captured .TXT file from GEnie library #3,
  27. LANGUAGES.  Use this to try out the method of converting files.
