- much as needed and given out to other users as often as you wish.
- There is no guarantee that it is error-free. Please READ the

- run at boot. A quick-and-dirty editor is provided within
- BooST(TM) to make updating batch files easy...especially if you
- are a new user without an ASCII file editor of your own.

-
- Installing Beta Version 0.9:
- As explained in the manual, just copy BOOST.PRG and BOOST.RSC into
- the AUTO folder, and run BOOST.PRG before you reboot. Remember
- the ST runs the programs in the AUTO folder in the order it finds
- them on the disk (which is not necessarily in alphabetical order).
- This can be overcome by copying the files out of the AUTO folder,
- deleting the AUTO folder, recreating the AUTO folder, and copying
- the appropriate programs back in the order you would like them to
- execute. IMPORTANT!!! If you are running a hard disk system and
- auto-booting from it, DO NOT load BooST(TM) into the AUTO folder
- first, you hard disk drivers must run first.
- This version was developed on a color system. It should run on a
- monochrome system, but as of this release it has not been fully
- checked out.
-
- Problems with Beta Version 0.9:
-
- - Within the editor, occasionally the keyboard buffer may overflow
- and BooST(TM) does not handle this very well. The editor does not
- crash, it just runs very slow. Some bad programming led to this.
- This problem has been corrected in Version 2.0 (the programmer has
- been shot).
-
- - The desktop icons used in BooST(TM) are pretty cheesy. This
- artistic goof has been corrected in Version 2.0.
-
- Enhancements in Version 2.0:
-
- - The number of allowable configurations has been increased from
- ten to twenty.
-
- - The Startup Menu has been further improved. Much more
- professional.
-
- - The Basic Editor has been vastly improved. The first attempt
- was poor, but it worked.
-
- - The CLI command set has been increased.
-
- - A CLI Desktop Accessory has been added to provide the user with
- a windowed online command line interface from the GEM Desktop.
-
- - A CLI-user development interface has been added so you can write
- your own program files to be used with the BooST(TM) CLI and the
- CLI Desktop Accessory.
-
- - An easy-to-use and indepth Help feature for use with the CLI
- Desktop Accessory (or on its own) has been added, allowing the
- user to create help files and view helpful information on whatever
- topics are needed directly from the GEM Desktop.
