  4. Requirements
  5. ------------
  6. Any    Atari ST/TT/Falcon with    at least  512  KB and TOS 1.4 (1.0 and 1.2
  7. may    work but I haven't tested that). A harddisk    and    a good text    editor
  8. is recommended and,    of course, a WWW  browser like CAB or Webspace.    It
  9. is a good idea to use an  editor  that    can     run  as an    ACC    if you are
  10. working    with single    TOS.  HTML-Help     has also been successfully    tested
  11. on a Hades 060.

  13. Changes
  14. -------
  15.   0.9      First version, published by the German Atari magazine
  16.            Atari Inside in August 1996.
  17.   1.1      Accessory access under single TOS!
  18.            Around 90 special characters are now supported.
  19.            The text viewer can now be set directly from HTML-Help.
  20.            Support for American English :-) . The only effect is
  21.             that 'colour' is replaced by 'color'...
  22.            I put many of the internal text information into the RSC
  23.             file to make translations to other languages easier.
  24.            The original Atari fileselector is now displayed without
  25.             problems.
  26.            Nice graphics for the help/info dialog!

  30. Languages
  31. ---------
  32. HTML-Help supports two languages: English and German.  American  English
  33. and French are partly supported.
  34. Falcon users don't have to change any file names,  HTML-Help  will  load
  35. the right RSC  file.  If  the  language  is  not  German  it  will  load
  36. automatically the English RSC.
  37. ST/TT users can set the language in the options dialog.

  40. Convert special characters
  41. --------------------------
  42. Convert between Atari, Windows and HTML characters.
  43.  
  44. Please note    that this conversion can't be perfect due to the different
  45. character sets of each computer.  Many    capital    umlauts    are    missing    in
  46. the    Atari character     set.  They     are  converted     to     their    lower case
  47. equivalents. The Windows ANSI  set    doesn't     support many mathematical
  48. symbols. HTML supports so many characters that they    can't be converted
  49. all.

  51. Some characters will not be converted. These are: "&<>
  52. They are part of the HTML syntax and a conversion would damage the file.

  56. ---------
  57. The    Text  window  isn't     100%  compatible  GEM.     It     works    well under
  58. 640*480/400    but    may    look strange  under     other    resolutions. So    I have
  59. integrated    a  new    feature     to     use  a     text  editor  instead    of the
  60. integrated text    viewer.     Since    version     1.1,  the    viewer    can    be set
  61. directly from the HTML-Help    option    dialog.     I    recommend Edith    as the
  62. text editor    because    it can    run     together  with    HTML-Help under    single
  63. TOS.

  65. The paths for browser and editor can be defined in HTML-Help.
