  9.        steps are the secrets to using shareware! We will look at each 
  10.        suggestion in greater detail in just a moment . . .

  12.        1) Make a copy of the shareware disk, store your original
  13.           and work with the copy.
  14.        2) Do a DIRECTORY LISTING of the disk(s) on paper or your
  15.           monitor screen.
  16.        3) Determine FILE TYPES using extensions and filename clues.
  17.        4) Read DOCUMENTATION and TEXT FILES if available on disk.
  18.        5) Unpack and install the program.
  19.        6) Configure the program if necessary.
  20.        7) Run the program.
  21.        8) Submit a registration fee or at least postcard(s)
  22.           with your regrets to the author and the disk vendor.
