  1. Rosh Hashanah is the "Feast of Trumpets" (Numbers29:1). Some believe the seven
  2. feasts of the Old Testament represent seven prophetic events in God's plan for
  3. the ages. Does Rosh Hashanah represent the rapture of the church? If so, Rosh Hashanah is
  4. the next prophetic event to be fulfilled. The following passage is the Sabbath
  5. reading for Rosh Hashanah.

  8. Joel 2:12-17 (KJV)   Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me 
  9. with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 
  10. {13} And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your 
  11. God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, 
  12. and repenteth him of the evil. {14} Who knoweth if he will return and repent, 
  13. and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering 
  14. unto the LORD your God? {15} Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a 
  15. solemn assembly: {16} Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble 
  16. the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the 
  17. bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. {17} Let 
  18. the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, 
  19. and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to 
  20. reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say 
  21. among the people, Where is their God?
