BORLAND INTRODUCES AGGRESSIVE INTRODUCTORY PRICING AND
MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO LAUNCH QUATTRO PRO 5.0
Borland's Goal to Sell 500,000 Units by January 15, 1994
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif--August 24, 1993 -- Borland
International Inc. (NASDAQ:BORL) today announced that it has
launched an aggressive pricing and marketing campaign to
promote the introduction of Quattro Pro 5.0, the industry's
leading spreadsheet product for the PC. Kicking off the
Quattro Pro 5.0 marketing campaign is the most aggressive
introductory pricing in the spreadsheet industry to date. The
pricing applies to three new products Borland has announced
today, including Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0, Quattro Pro for
Windows 5.0 Workgroup Edition, and Quattro Pro 5.0 for DOS.
This special, limited-time pricing offer is valid through
January 15, 1994. Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 and Quattro Pro
5.0 for DOS are available to all customers for just $49.95.
Borland is also offering its customers special rebate coupons,
so that current owners of Quattro Pro can purchase Quattro Pro
5.0 for Windows for $39.95, or can upgrade to the Workgroup
Edition of Quattro Pro for Windows 5.0 for $79.95. Pricing
