Version 3.06
1. Added attributes for the screen background to the COLORS command
instead of having them the same as the window color.
Version 3.00
1. Added file viewer for read.me files (VIEW command).
2. Added SET command for adding environmental variables to Autoexec.bat
3. Colors are now configurable (COLORS command).
4. Added DESCRIBE command which will allow a single line text
message to be attached to each label so that when the user is
editing that field, he will see a brief explanation of what
types of files that field is referring to.
5. Added command (ATTACH) that allows optional files to be
installed in a non-optional directory (contrasted with the
OPTION command which makes a directory and a group of files
optional.
6. Added the ability to never overwrite a file if it already exists
(PROTECT modifier to the FILE command).
7. Added XMS and EMS memory availability checks.
8. Changed RAM memory check from installed RAM to available RAM.
9. Added DPMI and VCPI server checks.
10. Added system variables IS88, IS286, IS386, ISFPU, ISMONO, ISCGA and
ISVGA which can be used to conditionally execute commands.
Version 2.20
1. Dos 6.00 added a new legal syntax to the Path command. This is now
recognized.
Version 2.18
1. Zipfiles that are marked read-only on the distribution disks and
transferred with the FILE command for unzipping are now changed to
read-write before deleting them.
2. Added ATTRIBSAVE command to specify whether attributes are to be
preserved from distribution disk to destination directories.
Version 2.17
1. All files transferred via the FILE command or installed via the
UNZIP command have their attributes preserved. So, if you have a
read-only, hidden file on the distribution disk, it will be a
read-only hidden file in the destination directory.
2. If the file being transferred already exists in the destination
directory, the existing file's attributes are changed to read/write
before the copy and to the source file's attributes after the copy.
So, if you are copying a hidden/read-only file on top of an existing
hidden/read-only file, you don't have to worry about access
privileges.
Version 2.11
1. Authorization keys are no longer necessary for Install-Pro to
function.
Version 2.09
1. If Config.sys or Autoexec.bat isn't in the path the User
enters, he can create it on the spot.
Version 2.00
1. Added external text redefinition file for foreign language
translations.
2. Added RAM, Math coprocessor, Dos version and CPU detection.
3. Added FILES= update for Config.sys.
4. Added PATH update for Autoexec.bat.
5. File decompression has been speeded up by about 80%.
6. Split files may now be tagged as UPGRADE or VERIFY.
Version 1.61
1. Changed OPTIONal label resolution to a single form with radio
buttons toggled for selection, instead of individual
mini-menus.
Version 1.60
1. FILE and UNZIP commands may now be modified with VERIFY or
UPGRADE. VERIFY always confirms before overwriting an
existing file, while UPGRADE always confirms overwriting a
new existing file.
2. Subdirectories stored in zip files are now automatically
created. (It is no longer necessary to create these
directories with a SUBDIR command.)
3. USER commands may now be tagged with NOMOD, which 'freezes' a
directory. A frozen destination directory cannot be changed
by the user, although the destination drive still can.
4. HELLO and GOODBYE screens may now be of any length, up to
available ram. They are automatically broken up at 14 lines,
or may be forced to a new page with HELLOBREAK and
GOODBYEBREAK commands.
5. Install-Pro may now be run from any directory. The only
restriction is that all installation files and scripts be in
the same directory as Install-Pro. The 'same directory' may
be the same-named directory, including the root directory, of
multiple installation disks.
6. The SPACE available check has been expanded and improved.
There is a slight syntax change with this command, so be sure
to check the documentation.
Version 1.58
1. RUN commands may now access OPTIONal labels.
2. Installations are no longer allowed to be attempted on top of an
installation DISKETTE. Diskettes other than the installation
diskette are still allowed, as well as fixed-disk installations from
the root to a subdirectory. Files have never been allowed to be
copied on top of themselves.
Version 1.53
1. Encrypted zip files are now detected.
Version 1.50
1. Added CHAIN to allow multi-module installations.
2. Added an OPTION modifier to the USER command to allow portions of an
installation to be made optional.
Version 1.40
1. Added UNZIP support.
Version 1.30
1. Added disk naming to allow "Utilities Disk" or any other name to be
assigned to a disk instead of the default "Disk n". The default
still works if Disk n was fine for you.
2. Disk swap windows and file transfer title windows now auto-size in
deference to the variable size disk names.
3. Added a disk SPACE check command.
Version 1.20
1. Files can now be split into pieces onto multiple diskettes and
rebuilt during installation.
Version 1.15
1. Added spawn (direct execution vs command shell execution) support
for RUN commands.
2. Added more rubust form entry - it's now more clear that the
installation wants to see a drive and a directory.
Version 1.13
1. Added 43/50 line, 80-132 column support.
Version 1.12
1. Floppy drives no longer get accessed during valid drive test during
destination directory entry.
2. All restrictions on leading or trailing backslashes when referring
to directories have been removed - \dir\ \dir and dir\ are all valid
when referring to a child subdirectory. C:\dir and C:\dir\ are both
valid when referring to a parent subdirectory. C:\dir\ as a parent
and \dir (or \dir\) as its child will also work.
Version 1.10
1. Added mono switch /m
2. Cosmetic changes made to some colors
