  9. announced the licensing of QuickTutors  for use in WordPerfect
  10. Presentations 2.0 for Windows. An advanced help technology
  11. designed and developed by Usability Sciences Corporation,
  12. QuickTutors are on-line tutorials that demonstrate how to perform
  13. common tasks.
  14.      "QuickTutors will not only tell our users how to perform
  15. specific tasks, but will show them how to perform those tasks,"
  16. said Richard Whitehead, product marketing manager, WordPerfect
  17. Presentations. "The information presented in these visual
  18. tutorials will be easier for users to assimilate and remember."
  19.      "QuickTutors were developed as a result of our extensive
  20. experience in usability testing. They provide help the way users
  21. want help without requiring a significant time commitment," said
  22. Jeff Schueler, president of Usability Sciences Corporation.
  23. "Usability support products such as QuickTutors are becoming an
  24. increasingly important part of PC software as companies strive
  25. for usability enhancements as well as a lower cost of support."
  26.      QuickTutors are easily accessed from the Help pull-down menu
  27. in WordPerfect Presentations 2.0 for Windows. Users simply click
  28. on "QuickTutors...," select a QuickTutor from the dialog box, and
  29. are presented with a description of what they are about to learn.
  30. They press the spacebar or click on a button in the InfoBox and
  31. the QuickTutor describes the action about to take place. Every
  32. action necessary to perform the task is demonstrated and
  33. explained at the users' own pace, and at the conclusion of the
  34. QuickTutor a QuickCard appears giving them the opportunity to
  35. work through the steps and accomplish the task in their own work.
  36.      QuickCards are also accessible for times when a user just
  37. needs a quick reference card as a reminder on how to perform a
  38. task. The QuickCard provides a list of steps that stays on the
  39. screen while the user performs the task outlined on the card.
