  1. WORDPERFECT PRESENTATIONS TO BE BUNDLED
  2. WITH LOGITECH SCANMAN MODEL 32

  5. OREM, Utah   July 14, 1993   WordPerfect Corporation today
  6. announced that Logitech's ScanMan Model 32 hand-held scanner will
  7. be bundled with specially-marked full retail packages of
  8. WordPerfect Presentations 2.0 for Windows. The bundle will be
  9. available for 90 days from the time WordPerfect Presentations
  10. ships or while supplies last, and will not be available with any
  11. other packages, agreements or special offers.
  12.      "Bundling our products provides an instant solution to users
  13. who want to immediately scan and edit graphics for
  14. presentations," said Shirley Chu, product marketing director,
  15. WordPerfect Presentations. Through the TWAIN interface, a user
  16. can use the ScanMan 32 to scan an image such as a company logo
  17. directly into WordPerfect Presentations. That image can then be
  18. edited in WordPerfect Presentations with the bitmap editor,
  19. converted into a vector image and scaled to the desired size for
  20. inclusion in a presentation.
  21.      "We're pleased to be teamed with the leading supplier of
  22. hand-held scanners," said Mark Calkins, vice president of
  23. corporate and strategic marketing at WordPerfect Corporation.
  24. "Logitech's scanning expertise is the perfect complement to our
  25. comprehensive presentation graphics package, and our agreement
  26. reinforces the fact that WordPerfect Presentations provides users
  27. with a one-box presentation graphics solution."
  28.      "The combination of these two powerful products and the
  29. simplicity of the TWAIN interface is bound to excite users as
  30. they discover the limitless possibilities for powerful, creative
  31. presentations," added Paul Lima, director of Logitech's Imaging
  32. Solutions Business Unit. "We're convinced this bundle will do
  33. extremely well in the channel while serving as an educational
  34. tool as well."
  35.      The same bundling agreement will be in force for
  36. international versions of WordPerfect Presentations for Windows
  37. as they ship. The bundle will be available for 90 days following
  38. the shipping date of each version or while supplies last.
  39. International versions of Presentations for Windows are due to
  40. ship 1-4 weeks after the product ships in the U.S.
  41.      As part of the co-marketing agreement, Logitech will provide
  42. a coupon to be included in all packages of WordPerfect
  43. Presentations for Windows (including trade-up and upgrade
  44. packages) for discounts on other Logitech products.
  45.      WordPerfect Presentations for Windows retails for $495.
  46. Logitech's ScanMan Model 32 (a retail value of $199) will be
  47. bundled with specially marked full retail packages of WordPerfect
  48. Presentations for Windows at no additional cost. For more
