  2. WinFax PRO 3.0      Updating Your WinFax Macros     April 21, 1993

  4. The following information describes how to update the "DDEWinFax"
  5. macro contained in the WINFAX.DOT supplied with WinFax PRO 3.0.
  6.  
  7. WFX4WORD.DOT, a Word Document Template file containing three macros
  8. written in the Microsoft WordBasic macro language, is an updated 
  9. version of the WINFAX.DOT, for use with version 2.0 of Microsoft
  10. Word for Windows.
  11.  
  12. The update addresses a logical error contained in the shipping
  13. version of the macro that would cause it to fail, and now provides
  14. support for faxing multiple page merge documents from Word.
  15.  
  16. Please refer to Chapter 12 in the WinFax PRO User's Guide for more
  17. information on how the macros contained in the WINFAX.DOT work.

  20. Updating Your Version of the Macro
  21. ----------------------------------
  22. Copy the WFX4WORD.DOT to C:\Winfax\Macros directory.  
  23.  
  24. To update the macros, follow the steps in Chapter 12 of the WinFax
  25. User's Guide for installing the WINFAX.DOT, using the WFX4WORD.DOT
  26. file in its place.

  28. The installation process copies the macros contained in WFX4WORD.DOT
  29. to the NORMAL.DOT, Word 2.0's global Document Template file.

  31. For more information on the NORMAL.DOT file or WordBasic, please
  32. refer to the documentation provided with Microsoft Word.

  34. Note:  The "WinFax" macro contained in both the WINFAX.DOT and
  35. WFX4WORD remains unchanged.

  37. A Note About Macros Supplied With WinFax
  38. ----------------------------------------
  39. Please note that Delrina Technical Support can only offer assistance
  40. in the installation and operation of sample macros provided with the
  41. software.

  43. Technical Support cannot support customized or specialized macros,
  44.  
  45. In most cases, the macros supplied with WinFax use the macro
  46. language native to the server application you are faxing from;
  47. Microsoft WordBasic is an example of this.  WinFax acts as a client
  48. making requests of the server application.

  50. To assist WinFax users in developing an enhanced integration
  51. with other applications, Technical Support may provide a Dynamic
  52. Data Exchange or Application Programming Interface specification.
  53.  
  54. Questions regarding the WordBasic macro development language or other
  55. API questions should be directed to the manufacturer of software
  56. application.
