  2.                         UPLIFTED HANDS

  5. BY ACCLAMATION (CLAPPING  OF HANDS).  Clapping is a form of
  6. praise.
  7.  
  8. 1.   We are commanded to clap our hands unto God.  Psa. 47:1.
  9.  
  10. 2.   Rejoice with clapping of the hands.  Psa. 98:4-8.
  11.  
  12. 3.   The clapping of the hands with restoration.  Isa. 55:10-13,
  13.  
  14. 4.   At the anointing and crowning of a restoration king. 2 Kings
  15.      11:12.  We are kings and priests unto God proclaiming
  16.      restoration truths.
  17.  
  18. WITH THE PROCESSION (MARCH).  Today we hear of many marches for
  19. Jesus.
  20.  
  21. 1.   GOD GOES FORTH IN THE MARCH, Jud. 5:4.
  22.      His presence and power is made manifest.
  23.  
  24. 2.   MARCHING WITH GOD PRODUCES RAIN, Psa. 68:29, Jud. 5:4.
  25.      The rain of blessing and revival.  Hos. 6:3 ... He (Jesus)
  26.      shall come unto us as the rain ...
  27.  
  28. 3.   PRODUCES VICTORY WITHOUT A BATTLE. 2 Chron. 20:20-22.
  29.      Jehoshaphat and his army MARCHED and SANG, God set
  30.      ambushments against the enemy.
  31.  
  32. 4.   MARCHES FOR DELIVERANCE FROM BONDAGE.  Ex. 13:18-21.
  33.      Went up harnessed - in ranks, and experienced great victory
  34.      over their enemies.
  35.  
  36.      MARCHED FOR DELIVERANCE FROM HINDRANCES.  Josh. 6:2-5
  37.      Marching caused the walls of Jericho to fall.  Showing that
  38.      God went forth in the march to bring the walls down.  There
  39.      are many spiritual walls such as bondage, sin, bitterness,
  40.      sectarianism, etc.
  41.  
  42.      At times congregations have been known to spontaneously rise
  43.      up in the worship service and march around the building
  44.      singing praise, which has resulted in many spiritual walls of
  45.      bondage, pride and fear etc., to be broken down, and great
  46.      joy experienced.  Showing that God goes forth in the march.
  47.  
  48. 6.   THE BRIDE OF CHRIST LIKENED TO A MARCHING ARMY.  Song of
  49.      Sol. 6:4,10. God shall be seen going forth.
  50.  
  51.      A marching army are those who have -
  52.  
  53.      a)    signed away their lives, will, plans and time.
  54.      b)    submitted to authority and discipline.
  55.      c)    thoroughly prepared and trained in warfare.
  56.      d)    learned how to use their weapons.
  57.  
  58.  WITH THE LIFTING OF THE HANDS.
  59.  
  60. 1.   LIFT UP YOUR HANDS in the sanctuary and bless the Lord,
  61.      Psa. 134:2.  This is another form of praise,
  62.  
  63. 2.   A DELIBERATE ACT OF OBEDIENCE.- I will lift up my hands in
  64.      thy name.  Psa. 63:4, - even though we may not feel like it.
  65.  
  66. 3.   SPEAKS OF COMPLETE SURRENDER...the lifting up of my hands as
  67.      the evening sacrifice - Psa. 141:2. This pointed to Jesus who
  68.      was our great evening sacrifice, and His complete surrender
  69.      and dedication to the Father's Will.  Note Matt. 27:46 - He
  70.      was offered in the evening just as the passover lamb in the
  71.      Old Testament was offered in the evening as a type of the
  72.      Lamb of God.  Ex. 29:39.

  74.      When we raise our hands in praise, it is a sign of complete
  75.      surrender to His presence and the working of His Holy Spirit
  76.      in our lives.
  77.  
  78. 4.   SIGN OF DEEP HEART CRY FOR GOD.  Hear the voice of my
  79.      supplication, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands
  80.      toward thy holy oracle (or Most Holy Place).  Psa. 28:2.
  81.  
  82. 5.   SIGN OF SPIRITUAL THIRST.  I stretch forth my hands unto
  83.      thee; my soul thirsteth after thee as a thirsty land,
  84.      Psa. 143:6. 
  85.  
  86.      As we praise Him with the uplifted hands, it expresses the
  87.      thirst and longing of our heart for God.
  88.  
  89. 6.   SPEAKS OF SUBMISSION TO HIS WORD.  My hands also will I lift
  90.      up unto thy commandments, which I have loved, Psa. 119:48.
  91.      Total surrender to the commands, instruction and principles
  92.      of the Word.  Dedicated to the keeping and doing of all God's
  93.      commandments.

  95. 7.   DURING THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS.  The first day of the seventh
  96.      month, Neh. 8:2. Ezra opened the book and all the people
  97.      answered, Amen, Amen, while lifting up their hands ...
  98.      Neh. 8:5-6. We are in the Feast of Trumpets now, the Word is
  99.      being opened and proclaimed as a trumpet, people are
  100.      responding to the Word with great receptivity and submission
  101.      (lifting of the hands).

  103. 8.   DELIVERANCE AND VICTORY WITH THE UPLIFTED HANDS.  "And it 
  104.      came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel 
  105.      prevailed; and when he let down his hands, Amalek (the 
  106.      enemy) prevailed."  Ex. 17:11., which shows the importance 
  107.      of this truth.  When we lose our surrender to God, the enemy 
  108.      prevails.  Let us not allow our hands to become slack and 
  109.      let them down.

  111.      When Moses' hands became heavy and he felt like letting them
  112.      down, Aaron and Hur held up his hands; and his hands were
  113.      steady until the going down of the sun.  The sun is going
  114.      down fast, darkness is covering the land, many are being
  115.      tempted to let their hands become slack, but they must 
  116.      remain steady.
  117.  
  118. 9.   HOLY HANDS.  "I desire therefore that in every place men
  119.      should pray without anger or quarrelling or resentment or
  120.      doubt in their minds, lifting up holy hands." 1 Tim.2:8 
  121.      Amp.
