  4. EFFECTS OF PRAISE.
  5.  
  6. 1.   PRAISE PREPARES A WAY FOR GOD to  show  forth  His  victory.
  7.      Psalm  50:23 - "He  who  brings an  offering  of  praise and
  8.      thanksgiving honours and glorifies Me; and he who orders his
  9.      way aright - who  prepares the way that I may shown him - to
  10.      him I will demonstrate the salvation of God." Amp.

  12. 2.   PRAISE CAUSES US TO TRIUMPH over all our enemies, 
  13.      circumstances and difficulties.  Psa.106:47 - "Deliver us, 0 
  14.      Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations,  that we 
  15.      may give  thanks to  Your  holy  name and  glory in praising 
  16.      You." Amp.

  18. 3.   PRAISE GIVES THE ABILITY AND STRENGTH  to  perform  our vows
  19.      daily.   Psalm 61:81  "So  will  I  sing praise to Your name
  20.      forever, paying my vows day by day." Amp.   Many  people are 
  21.      living with  broken  vows,  promises  they once  made to the 
  22.      Lord, now broken because the way became too difficult.   But 
  23.      praise   enables  us  to  maintain   our  dedication,  vows, 
  24.      promises, in spite of what we go through.  
  25.      
  26. 4.   GOD LIVES IN AND INHABITS THE PRAISES OF HIS PEOPLE.
  27.      Psalm 22:3 - "But You are holy, 0 You Who dwell in (the holy
  28.      place  where)  the  praises  of Israel  (are offered)." Amp.
  29.      Praise  brings God's  divine presence into our circumstances
  30.      and  surroundings - Isa.64:1 - "That thou mightest come down
  31.      that the mountains  might flow down at  thy  presence."  All 
  32.      mountains of doubt, despair, fear etc, are dispelled through 
  33.      His presence which comes through praise.

  35. 5.   PRAISE REFINES A MAN as a  refining pot  for  silver and the
  36.      furnace for gold.   Prov. 27:21 - "As the  refining  pot for 
  37.      silver  and  the  furnace  for  gold  (bring  forth  all the 
  38.      impurities of the metal),  so let  a  man be in his trial of 
  39.      praise (ridding it of all that is base or insincere) - for a 
  40.      man is  judged  by  what he  praises and of what he boasts." 
  41.      Amp.  Praise brings out the impurities and exposes hypocrisy 
  42.      and brings to light the trash.  See also  2 Chron. 23:12-13.

  44. 6.   PRAISE  CAUSES  THE  EARTH  TO  YIELD  HER  INCREASE.   Read
  45.      Psalm 67:5-6.  Here we see that praise will be an attracting
  46.      force  to   outsiders  both   church  people,   sinners  and 
  47.      backsliders.   Also  it  will  cause  fruitfulness in  God's 
  48.      people.

  50. 7.   PRAISE WILL PLAY A MAJOR PART IN THE OUTPOURING OF THE FORMER
  51.      AND LATTER RAIN IN THESE LAST DAYS.  
  52.      Note these three verses:
  53.  
  54.      (a)  Job.36:27 - "They pour down rain according to the vapour
  55.           there of."   Our  praise is like the vapour ascending up
  56.           and causing the rain.
  57.  
  58.      (b)  Eccl. 11:3 -  "If the clouds  be full of rain they empty
  59.           themselves  upon the  earth."   Praise  causes the  full
  60.           clouds to  empty  themselves of the blessing of God onto
  61.           this earth.
  62.  
  63.      (c)  Hos. 6:3 - "He  (Jesus) shall come unto us as the former
  64.           and  latter rain."   This  then is a  picture of  praise
  65.           ascending up and releasing the latter rain who is Jesus,
  66.           speaking of  His  appearing to  those  who love and seek
  67.           Him, the Day of Atonement.

  70. 8.    PRAISE CHANGES A PERSON'S LIFE to the extent that only
  71.       Christ is seen and many shall see it and fear,  and trust in 
  72.       the Lord.  Psalm 40:3.

  74. EXAMPLES OF THE RESULTS OF PRAISE:
  75.  
  76. 1.   ISRAEL  was  surrounded  by  death.    Jehoshaphat  appointed
  77.      singers to praise the Lord,  then God set ambushments against
  78.      the enemy.   God smote them to death.  They overcame death by
  79.      praise.   This is a picture of what  God is going to do today
  80.      as He reveals the final Truth.  See  2 Chron. 20:21.

  82. 2.   Death surrounded JUDAH (which means praise) before and behind
  83.      - then they gave a shout and God smote the enemy.  
  84.      See  2 Chron.13:14-15.
  85.  
  86. 3.   PAUL AND SILAS were chained in prison.  At midnight they sang
  87.      praises  (we are in the  midnight hour),  a  great earthquake
  88.      shook the foundations of the prison.   (Praise is shaking our
  89.      fetters  and  getting  at  the  foundation - root of  all our
  90.      bondages etc..), the doors were opened and every one's chains
  91.      were loosed.   Praise  is  setting men  free and will deliver 
  92.      them from the last enemy which is death.  See Acts 16:25.

  94. 4.   JONAH surrounded by death - in the  belly of the  whale.   He
  95.      was delivered when he offered a  sacrifice of praise unto the
  96.      Lord with the voice of thanksgiving.  See Jonah 2:9.
  97.  
  98. 5.   DAVID sung the evil spirit away  from Saul  (1 Sam.16:14-23),
  99.      by showing the power in praise to dispel  evil and tormenting
  100.      spirits.  They fear praise and cannot abide there.
  101.  
  102. 6.   AT THE DEDICATION OF THE TEMPLE  (which was on the  tenth day
  103.      of  the  seventh  month -  the Day of Atonement).    The  120 
  104.      Trumpeters were at one with the singers in praise and worship 
  105.      (on that day the people of praise will fully experience being 
  106.      at  one  with the  120 - end of  all  flesh - no more fleshly 
  107.      works etc.)   THEN the  house was filled with a cloud ... the 
  108.      cloud of His Presence ... the Glory of the Lord.  This is all 
  109.      prophetical of the Day of Atonement which is ahead of us when 
  110.      the  Bride (the church) and the Groom (Jesus) will be  joined 
  111.      together (at-one-ment) in an atmosphere of great  praise, the 
  112.      high praises of God.
