  343. 3.  Installation
  344. ----------------
  345.  
  346. To install WAZTREE on your hard disk:
  347. a.   Place Disk in drive A.
  348. b.   Type: INSTALL and press ENTER.
  349. c.   Follow the directions displayed on the screen.
  350.  
  351. If you don't want to use the install program supplied then copy the
  352. following files to a directory on your hard disk (example: make a
  353. directory named Waztree "MKDIR WAZTREE").
  354.

  360. If you had Version 1.5 and have installed V2.21 delete file
  361. "WAZTREE.HLP".  This was the help file which is now part of the

  365. WazTree "INSTALL" will support installation if distributed on three
  366. 360k floppies as well.

  388. 4. Tips on using WazTree
  389. ------------------------

  391. *    You can set up formatting diskettes using Application menu.
  392.      For example if you have a 1.2m floppy and want to format 360k
  393.      set up the following application than when you want to format
  394.      360k floppies just select it.  Set up: Press F4 to get
  395.      Applications, press F2 with mark over blank application, enter
  396.      ie. C:\DOS\FORMAT.COM A:/F:360 <enter> then name the
  397.      application "format A: as 360k".  You could set one up for
  398.      each of the type of floppies you have then formatting will be
  399.      a easier.
  400.  
  401. *    If you don't want to use Waztree's editor then you can specify
  402.      your own by command ctrl z and after the ID entry you can
  403.      specify complete path and name of your editor.
  404.  
  405. *    If you use your own editor and edit the same file often you
  406.      might want to enter the editor and document in an Application
  407.      selection.  Example of Application command line:
  408.      C:\EDITOR\ED.EXE MYDOC.DOC
  409.  
  410. *    If you don't want to use Waztree's modem (wtmodem) or voice dialer
  411.      (wtvoice) then you can specify your own by command ctrl z and after

  440. 6. Using Mouse Drivers with EGA and VGA Graphics Cards
  441. ------------------------------------------------------
  442.  
  443. Early versions of mouse drivers don't support screen display modes
  444. larger than 80 columns by 24 lines. As a result, your mouse driver
  445. might not work correctly when you use WAZTREE enhanced display
  446. modes EGA 80x43 or VGA 80x50. The following chart will assist you
  447. in determining if your mouse driver will work correctly with the
  448. enhanced display modes.  You can usually get an updated driver via
  449. BBS's.

  528. Shareware (also known as user supported software, try before you buy and other
  529. names) is a concept not understood by everyone.  The authors of Shareware
  530. retain all rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
  531. free distribution.  This gives the user the chance to freely acquire and try
  532. software to see if it is appropriate for his or her needs.  Shareware should
  533. not be confused with Public Domain software even though they are often acquired
  534. from the same sources.  If you continue to use Shareware after trying it out,
  535. you are expected to register your use with the author and pay a registration
  536. fee.  What you get in return depends on the author, but may include a printed
  537. manual, free updates, telephone support, etc.  Only by paying for the Shareware
  538. you use do you enable the Shareware author to continue to support his software
  539. and create new programs.  Considering that the Shareware registration fees are
  540. almost always far less than the purchase price of comparable commercial
  541. software it's obvious that Shareware is a good deal for everyone.  There are
  542. genuine advantages to you in the Shareware system.  You get to  try out
  543. software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and that it fits your
  544. needs before you "buy" it with your registration.  The author saves the expense
  545. of advertising, packaging and distribution and passes the savings on to you.
  546. Plus, most Shareware authors are much more accessible and gracious than
  547. commercial software sources so that your questions and suggestions are much
  548. more likely to be responded to.
