UNITS Conversion Program version 5.1 1993
Purpose:
To provide accurate conversion of units between various equivalent rep-
resentational forms. If you want to convert meters to yards, pounds per
square inches to bar, horsepower to watt or any other conversion, this
program will do the trick.
Format:
You won't need an instruction book, just insert the diskette in the
diskdrive and write A:UNITS at the prompt, or B:UNITS if the B:slot is
more convenient for you, and press the <ENTER> key. Having the program
on a hard disk is of course an advantage. Use your DOS-instruction to
create a suitable directory and to copy the program on to it.
Remarks:
It is the users responsibility to decide whether the program is
sufficiently reliable for its purpose.
Changes:
More sub-menus and more units on each sub-menu. Some sub-menus can now
be scrolled to show more units. The line editor is now provided with a
simple calculator. When you press <Enter>, the string in the editor
will be saved in a memory and it can be retrieved be means of the
<BkSpc> key. This function may also be used if you want to move a value
to and other line, or to an other sub-menu.
The SI-units are still the basic units for all the calculations, how-
ever a new white marked line have been added. This new white line may
be set by the user, just move the bar to the unit you want to use as
default unit end press the F8-key. When you leave the program a file
named UNITS.CFG will be created in the actual directory. If the
UNITS.CFG file is missing in the actual directory, when the program
starts, the white marked line will be set to the first line on all sub-
menus. Starting the program from different directory opens a
possibility to have different configurations for different purpose.
If you like the program, please pay the fee. Financial support from the
users of the program is essential for the revision of this program as
well as development of new programs. I am open for suggestions and
ideas to new programs. When you write please inform which version of
the UNITS-Conversion Program you are using.
