REDATE!
Free DOS utility: file redater
Version 1.15 - September 28, 1993
(c) 1993

REDATE! alters the date/ time stamp of files.
Usage: REDATE! file(s) [mm/dd/yy (or) mm-dd-yy] [hh:mm[:ss]]
or : REDATE! file(s) /p (prompt for date, time doesn''t change)
REDATE! takes one, two or three parameters on the command line. If no
parameters are given, the above info is displayed, where:
"file(s)" is the name of the file or file you want to stamp,
"mm/dd/yy" is Month, Date, Year, and
"hh:mm:ss" is Hour, Minute, Second.
The first parameter is the name of the file to process, which may contain
DOS wildcards (? and *) if desired. It is mandatory to have a valid file
specification.
Then, if the file date/ time is to be synchronized with the current
*system* date/ time, do not follow it with any additional parameters.
Otherwise, both a seven or eight-digit DATE followed by an seven or
eight-digit TIME must follow the filename as the second AND third
parameters. (The delimiters, / and :, may be changed but NOT omitted.)
NEW with version 1.10: if only ONE seven or eight-digit parameter follows
the file specification, REDATE! will look at the first sub-field delimiter
to determine if it is a date or time.
If that sub-field delimiter is a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/), then
REDATE! will assume it is a date. Otherwise, REDATE! assumes it is a time.
If you use this option, the non-specified field will not be changed.
In other words, if you specify just a new file date, the file time will
remain unchanged.
* NEW with version 1.10a: you do not need to use the seconds field. It
defaults to :00 if it is absent. Thus, 22:30:00 can be simply 22:30
* NEW with version 1.11: you can simply put a /p after the "file(s)" file
specification, and REDATE! will prompt for a date. Time will not change.
* NEW with version 1.15: the date and time fields do not need to be
padded with a leading zero when the month and hour are less than 10.
Thus, 9-28-93 and 1:15 are now acceptable. Hurray!
To stamp this file one-fifteen a.m., Sept. 28, 1993, you can specify:
REDATE! redate!.doc 09/28/93 01:15:00 [or]
REDATE! redate!.doc 9/28/93 1:15
Finally, REDATE! may be renamed on your system. I call mine UD.exe,
since "ud" is much easier to type than "redate!" - isn't it?!
