THANK YOU
I would like to thank the following people:
- Rodin van der Laan
Request for a file move facility.
Reporting problem under MS-Windows (Enhanced mode) and DESQview/X -
turned out to be problem with XMS memory.
Reporting problem with empty diskette drives.
- Ian Gerada
Pointing out the error that could be reported when the file manager
could not be installed; the documentation now describes how to correct
this situation.
Novell Network error originally reported was not a problem with
QUIKCOPY.
- Ywain Penberthy, Dale Winterstein, David Herselman
Asking (in that order) for the ability to copy diskettes.
- Ywain Penberthy
Asking for the ability to copy (or move) any file or subdirectory,
including those with hidden and system attributes.
Request for copying of empty subdirectories.
Reporting problem with QUIKCOPY apparently hanging.
- Chris Penberthy
Asking for a delay feature to slow QUIKCOPY down, when required.
- Iain Forfar
Requesting more cosmetically user-friendly more-prompt on help-screen.
Request for cursor to be off during copying/moving.
- Roger Crossley
Asking for QUIKCOPY to run under DOS v3.30. QUIKCOPY now runs under
DOS 3.20 or above.
- Frank Starr
Reporting that QUIKCOPY v3.21 did not work with DR DOS. As of v3.32,
QUIKCOPY supports DR DOS.
- Gavin Bergheim
Primary beta-tester of v3.39a-l beta versions.
Reported numerous errors in beta versions leading up to v3.40.
Asking for overwrite checking.
Asking for some sort of improvement in wild-card handling; lead to
truly-wild wild-cards.
- Christian Meck
Reporting problem of QUIKCOPY not copying diskettes properly on his
system. Turned out to be a problem with DMA segment boundary being
overrun.
- Ben Gadi (Jerusalem)
For asking for beeps and bells during diskette copying. (I apologise
that I lost your Email letter, and cannot remember your full name.)
- David Segall
For giving advice on various aspects of distributing QUIKCOPY as
shareware, including rewriting the documentation, providing fax support,
and registration by credit card.
- Ina and Jurgen Sonnenmoser
Co-sysops of LeClub BBS (SA), my FidoNet boss-node, and site through
which I receive most of my electronic mail. Also for starting NWSE
worldwide tape exchange program through which many users overseas have
obtained a copy of QUIKCOPY.
- George Inacio
Sysop of VC BBS (SA) for regularly uploading the latest versions of
QUIKCOPY (as well as other software I've written), within days of
release here in South Africa, to major BBSs in the USA.
- Barry Greenan
Pointing out that QUIKCOPY turned into SLOWCOPY when copying hundreds of
tiny data-files. This led to improvements in QUIKCOPY's performance.
