  48.         DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES.

  50.         Son of BONK (SOB) started out as a PM clone of BONK
  51.         originally authored by Tom Kashuba. During it's
  52.         development cycle, SOB took on a personality of it's
  53.         own. This is not because of any short comings in
  54.         BONK, but instead because of the facilities inherent
  55.         in and, offered by OS/2.  SOB is a 100% 32 bit OS/2
  56.         PM application and exploits some of the features of
  57.         OS/2.
  58.  
  59.         Like the original BONK, SOB's is an outbound manager
  60.         utility and a full featured FidoNet version 7
  61.         nodelist editor.
  62.  
  63.         SOB is 4D aware and supports Binkley 2.50+ point
  64.         directories. Fakenets are not supported and there
  65.         are no plans to support them.
  66.  
  67.         With the outbound manager you can:

  69.         ■   View a list of files in your outbound area.
  70.                 If you have points, they are included in the
  71.                 list automatically.
  72.  
  73.         ■   Readdress files targeted for one system to
  74.             another.
  75.  
  76.         ■   Selectively erase files.
  77.  
  78.         ■   Erase all files destined for a particular node.
  79.  
  80.         ■   Outbound "cleanup" option to clean out your
  81.             outbound.

  83.         ■   Send one or more files to another system.
  84.                 SOB provides a dialog where you can select
  85.                 one or more files in a subdirectory or tag
  86.                 the entire subdirectory for transmitting to
  87.                 a remote system.

  89.         ■   Request or update request files from another
  90.             system.

  93.         With the version 7 nodelist editor you can:

  95.         ■   Browse the nodelist.
  96.  
  97.         ■   Add and delete nodes.
  98.  
  99.         ■   Update existing entries

  101.         ■   Fast index searches on node number or SysOp
  102.             name.
  103.  
  104.         ■   Slower searches on system name, sysop name, and
  105.             system location.

  108.         Both the outbound manager and the nodelist editor
  109.         have online, context sensitive help.

  113.         QUICK START
  114.  
  115.         When you load SOB for the first time, you will be
  116.         prompted for configuration information. The only
  117.         information that is required is your node number and
  118.         the nodelist and outbound directories.  The other
  119.         information is for possible future enhancements.
  120.         This information is stored in a file called SOB.INI
  121.         located in directory that was current when SOB was
  122.         loaded.  If you delete this file, you will be
  123.         presented with the configuration dialog the next
  124.         time you load SOB.  You may also change your
  125.         configuration information by clicking on "Options"
  126.         from the menu bar then select "Configuration", or by
  127.         pressing Alt+C.

  129.         When loaded, SOB display the files in you outbound.
  130.         Double clicking on any entry will cause a pop-up
  131.         menu to be displayed with several actions you are
  132.         allowed to perform.

  134.         Clicking on "Misc" on the menu bar gives you other
  135.         useful options.
