  66. The bottom line of the display is used for help  key information, showing 
  67. the currently active help action keys and their function.

  69.  INTRODUCTION
  70. LASR_MAN prints  ASCII text files on a laser or ink jet printer in any of 
  71. thirty-six  different  styles.   They  include  the  normal  portrait  or 
  72. landscape orientation with either 10,  12,  17, 23  or 33  characters per 
  73. inch (cpi),  landscape with two pages per side (pps)  at 17  cpi or eight 
  74. pps at 33 cpi, and portrait with four pps at 23 cpi. Each of these styles 
  75. may  use  multiple  passes,  printing on both sides of each sheet.   This 
  76. allows up to sixteen pages of sixty  lines each to be printed on a single 
  77. sheet  of  letter  size paper.  Configuration data is included  to  allow 
  78. printing on A4 and legal size paper. 
  79.  
  80. In addition, the program has the ability to print individual files,  each 
  81. in the form of a booklet, or a group of files may be printed together, as 
  82. chapters of a book, in the form of a manual with two, four or eight pages 
  83. per side. Each book page will contain one, two or four text pages. 
  84.  
  85. Other  options  include selection of only files that have  been  changed, 
  86. page   titles,   substitution  of  spaces  for  tabs,   binding  margins, 
  87. underlining,  covers,  a half-tone "rubber stamp",  print font selection, 
  88. and a variety of option switches. 
  89. Options may be specified as an environment variable, on the command line, 
  90. in  an  option file or  by menu selection while the program  is  running. 
  91. Files to be printed may be selected in the same manner. 
  92.  
  93. LASR_MAN  prints only unformatted ASCII files.  If you use it to print  a 
  94. .COM file or a document stored in coded form by a word processor such  as 
  95. WordPerfect, the output will look strange. 
  96.  
  97. The only control characters that  are passed to the printer are  carriage 
  98. return (13),  line feed (10) and form feed (12). The tab character (9) is 
  99. converted to spaces. All other control characters (0-31)  are replaced by 
  100. a '■'. Valid characters (32-255) are printed 'as-is'.
  101.  
  102.  MAIN MENU
  103.    The ╔══╡ NORMAL SEQUENCE OF LASR_MAN OPERATIONS ╞══╗ is:

  105.     1.·SETUP  the  drive/directory on which the file(s)   to  be  printed 
  106.        reside. 
  107.     2.·Set  the  printing OPTIONS desired if different from the currently 
  108.        set options. 
  109.     3. Perform FILES SELECTion to tag the file(s) for printing.
  110.     4. PRINT the selected files.
  111.     5. EXIT the program.

  128. highlighted  letter or move the highlight bar to it using the arrow  keys

  131. Any FUNCTION may be accessed from the MAIN MENU, or any  option menu,  by 
  132. pressing its [highlight letter] or [ALT][highlight letter].
  133. The  BACKGROUND DISPLAY,  at both MAIN MENU and FUNCTION MENU  selection, 
  134. may contain a variety of information.  The BACKGROUND DISPLAY information 
  135. status is shown on the top line after "D>" (The user level is shown after 
  136. "M>". The codes are:

  145. ═>To toggle the BACKGROUND INFORMATION DISPLAY, press [TAB].  This INFOR-
  146. MATION  DISPLAY has eight levels,  any of which may be set by  repeatedly 
  147. pressing the [TAB] key. 
  148. SOFT FONT AVAILABILITY
  149.  
  150. If  the Print Font Display Status option has been toggled to "Yes",   the 
  151. availability of all possible LASR_MAN  soft fonts  will be displayed upon 
  152. initialization.  This display shows both those fonts that are present and 
  153. those that have not been loaded.
  154.  
  155. The  last two letters of the font name denote orientation and font  type: 
  156.  
  157.     P=Portrait                          0=STAMP-IT!         
  158.     L=Landscape                         1=LaserJet+         
  159.                                         2=LaserJet II/III/IV
  160.                                         3=DeskJet
  161.

  166.  SETUP MENU
  167.            The ╔═══╡ SETUP FUNCTION ╞═══╗ MENU includes:

  169. DATA PATH......(N)..Change  either the drive and/or the directory path to 
  170.                     the data files to be printed. 
  171. CHANGE·CONFIG..(A)..Load a file that will modify the current printer con-
  172.                     figuration set by the  configuration file and select-
  173.                     ion of the paper size and source.
  174. USER LEVEL.....(N)..Select the user level of menus & displays to use.
  175. PRINTER........(A)..Select the type of printer - LaserJet or DeskJet. 
  176. PRINT FONTS....(E)..Select the printer soft fonts/type fonts to use.
  177. MONITOR........(E)..Toggle the display between monochrome,  CGA color  (8 
  178.                     background colors) and EGA/VGA color (16 background). 
  179. MENU COLORS....(E)..Change the colors of any of the eight menu types.
  180. DATE FORMAT....(E)..Set the date display format.
  181. RESTORE·CONF...(E)..Reset  the  printer  configuration  to  the  selected 
  182.                     default standard. 
  183. RESTORE OPTIONS(E)..Reload the initial default program options.
  184. RESTORE PATH...(E)..Reset the data  directory path to the one that was in 
  185.                     effect when LASR_MAN was initiated.

  190. RESTORE CONFIGURATION FILES
  191.  
  192. Selecting  this  option can reset the printer parameters to the  standard 
  193. used for the selected PAPER SIZE and SOURCE BIN. A verification prompt is 
  194. first displayed and then, on a positive response, the program rereads the 
  195. standard  printer  configuration  file for the selected  PAPER  SIZE  and 
  196. SOURCE BIN commands. 
  197.  
  198. ═>To restore the printer commands without any changes, press [Y].
  199.  
  200. ═>To leave the printer commands as they are currently set, press [N].
  201. RESTORE PROGRAM DEFAULT OPTIONS
  202.  
  203. Selecting this option first displays a verification prompt and then, on a 
  204. positive response, resets the basic program options to those that were in 
  205. effect when the program was first installed.. 
  206.  
  207. ═>To restore the basic program options, press [Y].
  208.  
  209. ═>To leave the options as they are currently set, press [N].
  210. RESTORE DATA PATH
  211.  
  212. Selecting  this  option  can reset the data drive and directory  to  that 
  213. which was in effect when the program was loaded. A verification prompt is 
  214. first  displayed and then,  on a positive response,  the data  drive  and 
  215. directory are reset. 
  216.  
  217. ═>To restore the initial drive/directory, press [Y].
  218.  
  219. ═>To leave the drive/directory as they are currently set, press [N].
  220.  
  221.  CHANGE DATA PATH
  222. This  option will set the drive and directory from which files may  first 
  223. be selected/tagged and then printed. 
  224. The DRIVE MENU displays all valid drives, "A" thru LASTDRIVE,  as defined 
  225. by CONFIG.SYS. 
  226.  
  227. Those  drives  that are CAPITALIZED are currently available,   while  the 
  228. lower case drives are not. 
  229.  
  230. The current DRIVE is highlighted.
  231.  
  232. ═>To select the DATA PATH DRIVE, press its highlighted letter or move the 
  233. highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].
  234. The  SUBDIRECTORY PICK LIST displays the available subdirectories of  the 
  235. currently defined drive/directory DATA PATH. 
  236.  
  237. The "accept path" option will accept the DATA PATH as currently displayed 
  238. to the right of the DIRECTORY DATA PATH option. 
  239.  
  240. The ". [root dir]" option (if shown) will reset the DATA PATH to the root 
  241. directory of the current drive. 
  242.  
  243. The  "..  [parent]"  option (if shown)  will remove the last subdirectory 
  244. that was added to the DATA PATH. 
  245.  
  246. Pressing   [highlight  letter] will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  247. subdirectory whose name starts with that letter.
  248.  
  249. ═>To select  one of these options or to add another subdirectory  to  the 
  250. DATA PATH, move the highlight bar to the desired item and press [ENTER]. 
  251.  
  252.  CHANGE CONFIGURATION FILE
  253. There  are  two  types  of  printer  configuration  files  included  with 
  254. LASR_MAN. They are: 
  255.  
  256. 1.·The standard printer configuration file, LASR_MAN.LMG,  containing the 
  257.    commands  common  to  all paper sizes and  source  bins,   paper  size 
  258.    specific  printer  commands,  and paper source  bin  specific  printer 
  259.    commands.   This  file  is accessed by the SETUP FUNCTION  options  of 
  260.    PRINTER  and PRINT FONTS,  OPTIONS FUNCTION options of PAPER SIZE  and 
  261.    STYLE OF OUTPUT, and PRINT FUNCTION option PAPER SOURCE. 
  262.  
  263. 2.·Override  printer configuration commands may be  contained  in  change 
  264.    configuration files, having an extension of "*.LMC". 
  265.  
  266. Only  the  second  type  of configuration file can be  loaded  with  this 
  267. option.
  268. The  CONFIGURATION  FILE PATH LIST MENU displays the PATH  subdirectories 
  269. that contain files with an extension of ".LMC". 
  270.  
  271. If there is only one PATH subdirectory that contains ".LMC"  files,  this 
  272. menu  will  not  be  displayed and the  program  will  next  display  the 
  273. CONFIGURATION FILE PICK LIST. 
  274.  
  275. Pressing  [highlight  letter]  will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  276. subdirectory path displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  277.  
  278. ═>To  select  a PATH subdirectory from which a configuration  file may be 
  279. selected,   move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].  The  program 
  280. next displays the CONFIGURATION FILE PICK LIST. 
  281. The  CONFIGURATION  CHANGE  FILE  PICK LIST displays the  files  with  an 
  282. extension of ".LMC", located on the selected CONFIG FILE PATH. A  maximum 
  283. of  seventy-five files can be shown at one time:  to display others,  use 
  284. the cursor control keys noted on the help line. 
  285.  
  286. ═>To  view  the  contents of any CONFIGURATION  CHANGE  FILE,   move  the 
  287. highlight  bar  to the desired file name using the arrow keys  and  press 
  288. [F2]. 
  289.  
  290. ═>To select a CONFIGURATION CHANGE FILE, move the highlight bar to it and 
  291. press [ENTER]. Pressing [highlight letter] will move the highlight bar to 
  292. the first file displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  293.  
  294. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].

  319. There  are three USER LEVELS of option menus and displays available  with 
  320. LASR_MAN. They are: 
  321.  
  322.     NORMAL....(N)..Basic options to select and print files 
  323.     ADVANCED..(A)..Expanded options such as page titles and option files 
  324.     EXPERT....(E)..Full system options 
  325.  
  326. For  a  summary  of the various LASR_MAN options available at  each  USER 
  327. LEVEL, press [PAGEUP]. 
  328.  
  329. As  distributed,  LASR_MAN  is set for the basic MENU level of NORMAL and 
  330. DISPLAY level of NORMAL, for Function menus only. 
  331.  
  332. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  333.  
  334. ═>To select  the  desired  USER MENU LEVEL,   press  the  desired level's 
  335. highlighted letter or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. The 
  336. DISPLAY LEVEL menu is next displayed. 
  337. DISPLAY
  338.  
  339. The  DISPLAY  LEVEL MENU determines how the BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  will 
  340. appear  when  the  program  is waiting for either at the  MAIN  MENU  for 
  341. Function selection or at one of the FUNCTION MENUS for Option selection. 
  342.  
  343. The  higher  level options will also display the lower option settings  - 
  344. EXPERT will display NORMAL, ADVANCED and EXPERT option settings. 
  345.  
  346. The primary reason for this option is to allow an uncluttered display for 
  347. those that desire it. 
  348.  
  349. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  350.  
  351. ═>To select the desired  USER DISPLAY LEVEL,   press  the desired level's 
  352. highlighted letter or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER].
  353.  
  354. A  prompt  to  determine when to display the  BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  is 
  355. displayed next. 
  356. MAIN?...
  357.  
  358. The BACKGROUND  INFORMATION  is  normally displayed  when  any  MAIN MENU 
  359. FUNCTION is selected and it's OPTION MENU is displayed. (Note that it can 
  360. be suppressed by the previous USER DISPLAY LEVEL menu.) 
  361.  
  362. Additionally,   the  BACKGROUND  INFORMATION can be  displayed  when  the 
  363. program is at the MAIN MENU waiting for a FUNCTION to be selected. 
  364.  
  365. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  366.  
  367. ═>To  additionally display the BACKGROUND INFORMATION at the  MAIN  MENU, 
  368. press [Y]. 
  369.  
  370. ═>To suppress the BACKGROUND INFORMATION display at the MAIN MENU,  press

  372.  
  373.  PRINTER
  374. LASR_MAN  can  supports  both LaserJet and  DeskJet  printers.   LaserJet 
  375. support is denoted on this menu by "LJet" and DeskJet by "DJet". 
  376.  
  377. A variety of program parameters are affected by the choice  of  printers. 
  378. These include PAPER SIZE,  PAPER SOURCE and PRINT FONT  TO USE,  both for 
  379. the individual fonts and globally. 
  380. The print fonts available for the various printer selections include:
  381.  
  382. LaserJet +.....Internal and Type 1 soft fonts - a 192 character soft font 
  383.                set  (ASCII  32-127  and 160-255),  in both  portrait  and 
  384.                landscape,   is required by some  of  the  early  LaserJet 
  385.                models and their compatibles. In general, use Type 1 fonts 
  386.                only if your printer will not work with Type 2. 
  387. LaserJet II....Internal and Type 2 soft fonts - ASCII characters  32-255, 
  388.                in both portrait and landscape,  is required for  LaserJet 
  389.                II and compatibles that cannot rotate  a  portrait font to 
  390.                landscape. (HP IID/P can rotate fonts) 
  391. LaserJet III/IV..Internal and Type 2 soft fonts,  in portrait mode  only, 
  392.                for  LaserJet IID/IIP/III/IV and compatibles.  THIS IS THE 
  393.                NORMAL DEFAULT. 
  394. DeskJet, 0K....Internal fonts only, required for DeskJet, DeskJet +,  and 
  395.                DeskJet 500 and compatibles.  These printers, without add-
  396.                itional memory, are not capable of accepting soft fonts. 
  397. DeskJet,·256K..Internal and soft fonts for DeskJet printers with at least 
  398.                a 256K memory cartridge, and compatibles. 
  399. This  PRINTER selection function will not change these program parameters 
  400. until a different printer is selected. At that time,  all of the affected 
  401. parameters are set to their default values. 
  402.  
  403. ═>To leave the PRINTER as currently selected, press [ESCAPE].
  404.  
  405. ═>To change the PRINTER to the desired one,  press its highlighted letter 
  406. or move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. A print change message 
  407. will then be displayed.
  408.  
  409. ═>To leave the printer as currently set, press [ESCAPE].
  410.  
  411. ═>To change the printer, press any other key.
  412.  
  413.  PRINT FONTS TO USE
  414. Printer  fonts used for the five possible output pitches may be  selected 
  415. by use of this option. 
  416.  
  417. Most  laser/ink jet printers have internal 10/12/16  cpi fonts  (although 
  418. they may  not  be  able to print these three fonts in  both  Portrait and 
  419. Landscape).  Use of the internal fonts,  or those from a cartridge,  will 
  420. produce  higher  print speeds than  using  the soft fonts,   due  to  the 
  421. required  soft  font  download  time.  All  five  supplied  sets  of  the 
  422. downloadable soft fonts are modified Letter Gothic. 
  423. The three choices, for each of the five pitches, are: 
  424.  
  425.  INTERNAL......Use  an internal printer font,  one from a cartridge, or a 
  426.                previously loaded soft font.  Do NOT download a soft font.
  427.                LASER DEFAULT FOR PICA, ELITE, AND LINE PRINTER PITCHES.
  428.  192·CHAR......Download  a  TYPE 1 soft font.  This font will  print  the 
  429.                ASCII characters  32-127  and 160-255.  This option should 
  430.                be  used for older LaserJets and those that emulate  them. 
  431.                (NOT AVAILABLE WITH DESKJET PRINTERS) 
  432.  256·CHAR......Download a TYPE 2 soft font (normal).  This font  produces 
  433.                all  printable  characters and should be used for most  HP 
  434.                II/III/IV-compatibles. DEFAULT FOR SMALL AND TINY PITCHES.
  435. ═>To  toggle  the FONT TYPE for an OUTPUT PITCH,  press  its  highlighted 
  436. letter  or move the highlight bar to the desired PITCH and press [ENTER]. 
  437. If the PORTRAIT (and/or LANDSCAPE)  FONT for that PITCH is not present, a 
  438. message will be displayed and that FONT TYPE will NOT be selected. 
  439.  
  440. ═>To return to the SETUP menu, press [ESCAPE].
  441. Additionally,   the  program can display the status -  available  or  not 
  442. available  - of all of LASR_MAN's soft fonts during initialization.  This 
  443. display can assist in resolving printing problems by quickly  determining 
  444. if the desired fonts are present.
  445.  
  446. ═>To toggle whether the soft font status will be displayed during program 
  447. initialization, press [D]. 
  448.  
  449.  CHANGE MENU COLORS MENU
  450. The  CHANGE  MENU  COLORS MENU options include the eight  TYPES  OF  MENU 
  451. windows used by LASR_MAN and a default colors reset. 
  452.  
  453. ═>To reset all of the menu colors to the original defaults, press [D].
  454.  
  455. ═>To  change  the  colors of a MENU TYPE window,  press  its  highlighted

  650. The  PAGE  TITLE TYPE MENU determines whether each page will  be  TITLED, 
  651. and, if so, where that TITLE will appear.

  653. Header.........A  PAGE TITLE consisting of user specified fields followed 
  654.                by  a  blank  line  is printed at the top  of  each  page. 
  655.                Specifying these  fields and their defaults are covered on 
  656.                the following help pages. 
  657. Footer.........A blank line and a PAGE TITLE consisting of user specified 
  658.                fields is printed at the bottom of each page. 
  659. hEad/foot......On sheets where 1 and 2 pps are printed, same as "HEADER". 
  660.                On 4 pps and 8 pps,  the top vertical text page is printed 
  661.                with a header and the bottom vertical page with a footer. 
  662. fOot/head......On sheets where 1 and 2 pps are printed, same as "FOOTER". 
  663.                On 4 pps and 8 pps,  the top vertical text page is printed 
  664.                with a header and the bottom vertical page with a footer. 
  665. No page title..No PAGE TITLE is printed. Instead,  two more lines of text

  716. Option  files  contain pre-defined sets of LASR_MAN  program and printing 
  717. options that have been  set either from the  command line or by selection 
  718. menu.

  720. Although  they may be created/edited by a text editor or word  processor, 
  721. they  are  normally  created by first setting the desired options on  the 
  722. command  line and/or selection menu and then saving these current options 
  723. with  the  EXIT FUNCTION, SAVE OPTIONS option. 
  724. The  OPTION  FILE  PATH LIST MENU displays the PATH  subdirectories  that 
  725. contain OPTION FILES with an  extension of ".LMO".  OPTION FILES normally 
  726. contain  option settings from previous LASR_MAN sessions that  have  been 
  727. saved. 
  728.  
  729. If there is only one PATH subdirectory that contains ".LMO"  files,  this 
  730. menu will not be displayed and the  program  will next display the OPTION 
  731. FILE PICK LIST. 
  732.  
  733. Pressing  [highlight  letter]  will move the highlight bar to  the  first 
  734. subdirectory path displayed whose name starts with that letter. 
  735.  
  736. ═>To select a PATH subdirectory from which a OPTION file may be selected, 
  737. move the highlight bar to it and press [ENTER]. The program next displays 
  738. the OPTION FILE PICK LIST. 
  739. The OPTION FILE PICK LIST displays the files with an extension of ".LMO",

  757. may be of any length and will be printed before all of the other selected 
  758. files. 
  759. SELECT COVER FOR PRINTING - PATH LIST

  761. The  COVER  FILE PATH LIST displays all PATH referenced directories  that 
  762. contain LASR_MAN cover files, those  having an extension of ".LMV". 
  763.

  791. SWITCH TITLES.......Switch the left and right title fields on even pages.
  792. BINDING BORDER......Reads  a special configuration file that will give  a 
  793.                     1/2"   binding border on the long side of the printed 
  794.                     sheet. 
  795. PRINT FORM FEEDS**..Normally  a form feed code will cause  the  following 
  796.                     text to appear on the next page. If NO, FF codes will 
  797.                     be ignored; if ***, FF code are replaced by a line of
  798.                     special characters.
  799. TITLE HEADERS.......Title  fields normally have a header in the  form  of 
  800.                     "...:  ". If NO,  these headers will not be displayed 
  801.                     nor will they print. 
  802. PAGE DIVIDERS**.....Menus will define the type of horizontal and vertical 
  803.                     page  dividers to print between multiple  text  pages 
  804.                     per sheet side. 
  805. PAGE FLOW >2PPS**...Text page flow,  horizontal or vertical on multi-text 
  806.                     pages per side output styles. 
  807. BLANK LINE..........Print or suppress text blank lines.
  808. NO LEFT MARGIN**....Suppress blank character left margins.
  809. SPACE/TABS**........Define the number of space in a text tab character.
  810. TAB PRINT WIDTH**...Define the number of spaces to use for a tab on 
  811.                     output.
  812. TEXT WORD WRAP**....Select method to use for printed line overflow.

  923. handled based on the selected text word wrap option.  Available TEXT WORD 
  924. WRAP options include:

  926. +++............The  first  output text line is filled completely and  the 
  927.                remaining  text  is then placed on the  next  output  line 
  928.                preceded by line continue character string. 
  929. Cut............The  first  output text line is filled completely and  the 
  930.                remaining text for that line is discarded. 
  931. Yes............The first output text line is filled to the last full word 
  932.                and  the  remaining text is then placed on the next output 
  933.                line.   Single  carriage  returns  are ignored and  double 
  934.                carriage  returns  are  processed  as  such.   This  is  a 
  935.                "paragraph" approach  to preparing the output and will not 
  936.                work well with tabular or graphical text material.

  941.  LINES PER PAGE LIMIT
  942. The  LINES  PER PAGE LIMIT option can be used to force a text  file  that 
  943. does not  use  form feed characters or has form feed in the wrong  places 
  944. for this printout,   to  control pagination and properly paginate it when 
  945. the files lines per page is different than the selected style of output's 
  946. lines per page.

  948. For example,  if a text file has 66  lines per page without any form feed 
  949. characters  and  the selected style of output prints 72  lines per  page, 
  950. setting the  LINES PER PAGE LIMIT to 66  will result in  properly printed 
  951. pagination.

  966. does not change with the style of output. The "rubber stamp" text will be 
  967. printed in the selected STYLE.

  1015. directory  meeting  the  selected  file  mask-archive  bit  settings  are 
  1016. displayed in the PICK LIST. If no files on the directory match, a message 
  1017. is  so  displayed  and  the program returns to the function FILES  SELECT 
  1018. menu.

  1131. The setting of  this  option  is normally automatic,  based on the  PAPER 
  1132. SOURCE selected.  However it may be over-ridden  by toggling this option, 
  1133. after first selecting the desired printer paper source.

  1139. Printer  output  is normally directed to the LPT1  port.   This  toggling 
  1140. option allows the printer output to be directed to LPT1-3,  COM1-4, or to 
  1141. a disk file, LASR_MAN.PRN.

  1146.  PRINTING MENU
  1147. After file selection for printing,  a  PRINTING option menu is displayed. 
  1148. This menu has three options for printing text pages,  four  for  skipping 
  1149. them  and  one to cancel printing.  The title line  of  the PRINTING menu 
  1150. specifies  which printing pass this is (1  or 2)  and  where the  printed 
  1151. output should be directed to after being printed.  When first  displayed, 
  1152. it is highlighted to alert you to set the printer for  this output before 
  1153. printing any sheets. 
  1154.  
  1155. An  ACTION  window is displayed at the lower left depicting  the  current 
  1156. sheet  -  [  ] - and the relative location on it of this text page -  ▓▓. 
  1157. (Note that there may be from one to eight text pages on the sheet) 
  1158.  
  1159. ═>To print only this sheet and prepare for the next, press [P]. This will 
  1160. print all of the text pages for this side of this sheet. 
  1161.  
  1162. ═>To print all of the sheets for this file and this pass, press [F].

  1222. with the smaller font sizes, for clarity.

  1228. The  first  pass  of printing has been  completed.   The  message  window 
  1229. contains specific  notes  for  your printer - they may  differ  from this 
  1230. information: if so, use them instead.

  1232. ═>To  print  the back side of these sheets,  remove the  PASS  1  PRINTER 
  1233. OUTPUT and use it as the INPUT FOR THE NEXT PRINTER PASS. Place the FIRST 
  1234. PASS OUTPUT printed paper such that the printing  at the TOP OF THE SHEET 
  1235. is positioned as described in the informational display.  Set the printer 
  1236. for the proper output path.

  1238. If  the  MULTI-PURPOSE  input tray is to be used for the  second  printer

  1252. The sequence of operations necessary to produce an index is:

  1254.         ═>·Generate a key  word disk file from LASR_MAN  while printing a 
  1255.            document  or documents by setting the PRINT FUNCTION "Generate

  1258.            desired fromthe key word file.
