The ATI Turbo AI is a programming interface written exclusively for ATI
mach8 and mach32 accelerator chips. The AI provides access to the graphics
coprocessor by providing a "call interface" to programs performing display
functions in the 8514/A compatible part of the graphics card. The ATI Turbo
Adapter Interface is 100% compatible with AI programs written for the IBM
8514/A.
The mach32 accelerators offer a "VGA Memory Size" option on the "Set Power
Up Configuration" menu of INSTALL. Some 8514/A applications may require
that the VGA memory size be set to a value other than "Shared".
It is recommended that HDILOAD be installed in a directory called \HDIPCDOS.
While this is not absolutely necessary, some 8514/A applications may require
it. Simply "unzip" the contents of the HDLOAD.ZIP file into that directory
to complete the installation.
Type HDILOAD at the DOS prompt to load the Adapter Interface. HDILOAD
supports an UNLOAD (or simply U) command line parameter for removing the
TSR from memory. This may prove useful in the batch files that call your
8514/A application.
A testing utility called DEMOAI.EXE is also included in the package. Type
DEMOAI at the DOS prompt to see the command line switches available.
DEMOAI.EXE requires that the Adapter Interface already be loaded.
