ETCAI Products grants you permission to distribute ETCAI
within the constraints listed below.
(1) ETCAI must be identified as shareware either directly or as
general statement in your documents or catalogs.
(2) Copyright notices and registration information within ETCAI
must not be removed or modified.
Beyond the constraints listed above, you are free to
unarchive, archive, add your own installation procedures, and add
documentation files. ETCAI Products wants to see ETCAI
distributed to all potential users. ETCAI Products does not want
to impede your distribution so long as our mutual customer
receives accurate and honest information.
ETCAI is an expanding and evolving product. Updates should
be distributed at approximate 6 to 9 month intervals. Please let
ETCAI Products know if you choose to add ETCAI to your library.

QUICK INSTALLATION FOR REVIEWERS
Copy the files on the disk(s) supplied into a directory on
your hard drive. Run ET1 to dearchive the first half of the ETCAI
files. Run ET2 to dearchive the remainder of the ETCAI files. If
you have an EGA or VGA monitor, type GO to start ETCAI. If you
have a Hercules monitor type MONO to install the Hercules video
driver prior to typing GO. Select your options from the pull down
menus using either the mouse or the keyboard.
ETCAI SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
You can use the paragraph below, some portion of it, or your
own description for your catalog listing for ETCAI.
ETCAI is a computer assisted instructional system designed
for electronics and electricity training. The system includes 31
exercises which present, grade, and score problems made up of
randomly selected components and parameters. Extensive graphics
are used with a simple "pull down" and "push button" user
interface. On-line help is available in many exercises. The
material is designed to be useful at the high school, community
college ,and trade school levels. ETCAI is intended to be used
for several training purposes including drill and practice,
competency development, competency testing, remediation, and
placement determination. ETCAI should be an useful companion to a
number of electronics and electrical computer based and paper
based tutorials. Topics covered include AC and DC circuits,
Digital Principles, and transistors. Exercises are included to
develop analysis skills, circuit action understanding, and
troubleshooting ability.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
IBM PC with MS-DOS 3.3 or later, 512KB RAM, hard disk, and EGA or
VGA or Hercules monitor, a mouse and printer are useful options.
PURCHASE PRICE
$45.00 for a single copy registration. Site registration
available for $15.00 per user station for up to 10 users per site
(minimum site fee $90.00). Then $10.00 for each user station
beyond 10 users per site.

Mr. Ormon is an instructor and Department Chairman of
Electronics Technology at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community
College. He has been teaching electronics and designing
instructional material for 26 years at MGCCC. He is also an
adjunct faculty member of University of Southern Mississippi Gulf
Park Campus teaching courses within the Electronics Engineering
Technology Department. Mr. Ormon has long felt that computers can
and should play a larger role in education at all levels. He
designed ETCAI to encourage accurate analysis, thought, and
problem solving skills. Mr. Ormon is presently at work expanding
the exercise set and adding features for the next version of
ETCAI. In addition, he is developing a totally graphic based
linear circuit design system for projected release during the
second quarter of 1994.
