This program was written on the suggestion of Ian Ameline of IBM, so if
it doesn't work, blame him <g>.
This program will load the IBM C Set/2 compiler into memory and then
will sleep until interrupted by a sigint (CTRL+C). By keeping the compiler
in memory, all the compiler loading for each module is avoided. If there
is not enough memory, the compiler will be discarded and reloaded when
necessary, so this program will not cause swapping to occur. In other
words, if you have sufficient memory, you'll obtain a significant boost
in performance. If you don't have enough memory, this program will not
have a negative impact.
The easiest way to use this program is to create a program object. Set the
working directory to \ibmc\bin, set the OS/2 window to minimize and
execute the program before running your build. When through, maximize the
window that contains the program and type CTRL+C to kill the program.
You may modify, give away, throw away or do anything to this program you
like. If you do improve it, we all would appreciate it if you would
pass on the improvements.
Good luck,
Matt Osborn 75230,1346
