  10. This version should fix most hung-up upon boot-time error.  For ver 2.1 
  11. users, you may try putting DEVICE=SBPCD2.SYS as the first line in the
  12. CONFIG.SYS file.  If IFS=HPFS.IFS is the first line, then put the DEVICE
  13. line as the 2nd line.

  22. This note describes how to use the device driver.  Feed back on any problem 
  23. from users is welcome. Please see detail later for reporting bugs.

  26. IMPORTANT: You need to have the separate Multimedia Presentation Manager
  27.            (MMPM/2) package installed for the CD-ROM drive to work 
  28.            properly.  Please check with your IBM dealer for the item.
  29.            The version of OS/2 after 2.0 will include MMPM/2 as part of
  30.            the system package.

  33. What do you get and how to install?
  34.  
  35. First remove the following line from the CONFIG.SYS file.
  36.  
  37.     DEVICE=C:\OS2\CDROM.SYS
  38.  
  39. You are given a copy of device driver file, SBPCD2.SYS. This is a beta 
  40. release version 1.0.  Users should include the following line into the 
  41. CONFIG.SYS file.
  42.  
  43.     DEVICE=C:\DRV\SBPCD2.SYS /P:nnn
  44.  
  45. Assuming the driver is located in the directory C:\DRV, the /P parameter is 
  46. for the I/O port address setting where nnn specified the address number in 
  47. hexadecimal. The valid options are 220, 240, 260 and 280 with default 
  48. setting is set to 220.

  50. Note that the CD-ROM device driver that come with OS/2 packet will not work 
  51. together with SBPCD2.SYS.

  54. What is needed with the device driver?
  55.  
  56. You need a Sound Blaster Pro card and a Matsushita CD-ROM drive, model CR-
  57. 521-CAC. Both the internal and the external drives work with this device 
  58. driver. If you have the earlier model of CD-ROM drive, the audio channel 
  59. control function might not work very well. This problem will be fixed in 
  60. the later version of device driver.  Note that Matsushita is Panasonic, and
  61. vice verse.

  63. You will also need two drivers, VCDROM.SYS and CDFS.IFS, that come together 
  64. in the OS/2 packet.  The follow two lines should be included in the 
  65. CONFIG.SYS file.

  68. DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VCDROM.SYS

  70. Assuming the CDFS.IFS is found in the directory C:\OS2 and the VCDROM.SYS 
  71. is found in the directory C:\OS2\MDOS. For more information about these two 
  72. drivers, please refer to OS/2 manual.

  77. This driver is provided "AS IS".  Your only revenue to get bugs fixed is to
  78. complete the following form and either MAIL or FAX it to us.  Any other
  79. methods of communciation is not applicable.
