  2. GENOA/Cirrus Logic based OS/2 2.1 beta display driver installation --- 08/04/93

  6. For GENOA Models - 8500, 8500VL, 8500VL TURBO, 8600VLIO, 8600VLA

  8. Available OS/2 2.1 driver resolutions:        640x480 256 colors
  9.                                               800x600 256 colors
  10.                                              1024x768 256 colors

  13. 1. Invoke an OS/2 window session or an OS/2 full screen session under OS/2 2.1.
  14.  
  15. 2. Change to the "\DISP_1" directory and then from the prompt line type:
  16.  
  17.                           "CLINST21 C" <return>
  18.  
  19. 3. Check the 'Primary Display' check box from the DISPLAY DRIVER INSTALL
  20.    dialog box.
  21.  
  22. 4. Select 'Cirrus Logic Blitter Driver' from PRIMARY DISPLAY ADAPTER TYPE
  23.    dialog box.
  24.  
  25. 5. Select 'Install Using Display Adapter Utility Program' and enter
  26.    "C:\DISP_1\OS2SYNC.COM" after selecting the option.
  27.  
  28. 6. The OS2SYNC program will load and a screen of refresh rates will appear.
  29.    This screen will let you select the refresh rate of your choice and center
  30.    it for your monitor.  Only the last selection made is saved and is written
  31.    into the display resolution driver you select in step 7.
  32.    To select the desired refresh rate, use the arrow keys and hit <return>
  33.    Now center the screen with the arrow keys and hit <return>
  34.  
  35. (Note: If the screen is out of sync, hit enter and select another/lower rate)
  36.  
  37.    Select 'Exit' and your refresh rate will be saved in the driver you select
  38.    in step 7.

  40. 7. Select the display resolution you wish from the SELECT DISPLAY RESOLUTION
  41.    list box.

  43. (Note: Be sure you select the same resolution here as you did in the OS2SYNC
  44.        utility or your refresh rate won't take effect.)

  46.    The following is a list of available resolution:
  47.                            -640x480 256 colors
  48.                            -800x600 256 colors
  49.                            -1024x768 256 colors

  51. 8. Click the 'Change' button in the SOURCE DIRECTORY dialog box, type
  52.    "C:\DISP_1" <Return> in the edit box and follow all prompts thereafter.

  55. Note: During installation, the target file may have a newer date than the
  56.       source, select the YES button when the installation program display a
  57.       dialog box to notify the user of this situation.
