MMDUP
WHAT IT IS:
This little utility is being released to enable users of the Meal Master
recipe database program to check for records with duplicate recipe titles
in their database. Although Meal Master has a duplicate checker built in
for importing, it is possible for duplicate recipe titles to slip into the
database during manual importing. (Like many users, I have a large number
of recipes in multiple subdirectories so I import new recipes manually).
My husband, Neil wrote this small program to save me time checking for
duplicate recipe titles. We have decided to release it into the computing
community as freeware (no registration fee). It may be freely distributed
provided the code is not altered or no fee is charged without the
permission of Neil or Anne MacLellan.
LEGAL STUFF:
We have no connection with Episoft or Scott Welliver and this program is
not endorsed by Episoft Systems. Meal Master is a registered trademark and
copyrighted by Scott Welliver and Episoft Systems.
The authors are not responsible for any damage that may arise to one's
computer or data using this program. Usage of this program constitutes
acceptance of full liability for any damages incurred and releases Neil and
Anne MacLellan from any liability or litigation for any reason. (This
should not be problem if this program is obtained from a BBS with reliable
virus screening proceedures.)
I urge anyone using the shareware version of Meal Master to register the
program with Episoft Systems. It is good program with great support by its
author and he deserves payment for his efforts.
HOW IT WORKS
There are several steps to using MMDUP.EXE.
MMDUP.EXE should be put in the same directory as MM.EXE (Meal Master).
1) From within Meal Master, select the Utilities menu. Choose "T" Title
Index and 'O' to change Output to write it to a file (TLINDEX.TXT).
2) Exit Meal Master to the Dos prompt.
3) Type MMDUP.EXE. The following options will appear:
F - write list of duplicate title to file MMDUP.TXT and display on screen
Press any other key to display duplicate titles on screen only
The program will search for duplicate recipe titles and display them on the
screen along with the number of duplicate recipe titles fond. It will
write them to the file MMDUP.TXT (if desired).
If it does not find any duplicate recipe titles, the following message will
appear.
"No duplicate recipe titles found"
In the event you have forgotten to run a Title Index in Meal Master, the
following message will appear.
"No TLINDEX.TXT found. You must run Meal Master, select the Utilities
Menu, select "T" for Title Index and then "O" to change Output to
file TLINDEX.TXT"
4) The program will end and return you to the DOS prompt. You may then
restart Meal Master, view the records with the duplicate titles and rename
or delete them as you wish.
Hope that you find this program as useful as I have.
