INTRODUCTION:
=============================================================================
NetMail is a FreeWare PPE, (as all PPE's SHOULD be) for users of Rob
Kittredge's 'QFront' FidoNet Mailer program. It replaces the (E)nter
command in your NetMail conference and helps your user through the process
or entering a FidoNet address.
There are other programs out there that do this an more but I wanted
something simple and something that I could get to the Source Code for
so that I could 'tinker' with it.
Since I've revised it a couple of time now, there is a list of changes I have
made in the .PPS file.
SETUP:
=============================================================================
Put all the files in a directory. (I have a separate directory for each
PPE that I run but in this case, you can put it in the same directory
that you NetMail conference is in.
Using you favorite text editor (or EDIT) edit the NetMail.CFG file.
Line 1: Default Zone
If the user types in just the Net/Node then this is the ZONE that will
be assigned to the message.
Line 2: Default Net
If the user just types the Node number, this is the NET number that will
be assigned to the address.
Line 3: Security Level to use Immediate
Line 4: Security Level to use Crash
Line 5: Security Level to use Direct
Line 6: Security Level to use Hold
Go into PCBSETUP/CONFERENCES and select your NetMail conference.
Add the 'E' command to your conference CMD file. and call the
NETMAIL.PPE from it.
Select 'Y' on Force Echo On All Messages
Select 'Y' on Make All Messages Private
I recommend that you set the level to request a Return Receipt to 0.
The reason being is that I haven't found a way to check for this inside
the PPE so we ASSUME that PCB is going to ask this question and we answer
it. (See the Source Code)
That's it! You should be set up and ready to go.
Thank to my BETA team (Tim Hyde) and to Rob for QFront.
