Shareware: LITE2LAN has been distributed under the shareware concept.
It may be copied and distributed freely as long as all files
are included and no modifications are made to any of the files.
If you find LITE2LAN useful, please register it by sending $5
to the address above.
Files: LITE2LAN.ZIP should include the following files:
NEWNET.EXE
LITE2LAN.BAT
RESTORE.BAT
LITE2LAN.DOC
If any of these files are missing, DO NOT RUN LITE2LAN.
To run: Copy LITE2LAN.BAT and NEWNET.EXE to your Lantastic
subdirectory (MUST BE C:\LANTASTI ) and run LITE2LAN.BAT.
LITE2LAN.BAT does the following:
Renames NET.EXE to NETL.EXE
Renames NET.HLP to NETL.HLP
Renames NET.MNU to NETL.MNU
Renames NEWNET.EXE to NET.EXE
To restore: To restore your Lantastic files to their origianl names,
run RESTORE.BAT in your Lantastic subdirectory.
What it does: The new NET.EXE allows you to use all standard Lantastic
commands as before, but it also allows you to use certain
Netware Lite commands (see Netware Lite Commands below for
listing of supported commands).
* * THIS IS VERY USEFUL IF YOU HAVE SWITCHED FROM NETWARE LITE
TO LANTASTIC, AND HAVE NUMEROUS BATCH FILES THAT USE
NETWARE LITE COMMANDS.
How it works: Lantastic commands are executed simply by calling NETL.EXE.
Netware Lite commands are executed by carring out various
Lantastic commands to achieve the same result.
Special Note: One of the major differences between Lantastic and Netware
Lite is that Lantastic logs into a server when a device is
redirected to that server. Netware Lite just redirects the
device only.
The new NET.EXE compensates for this by logging out of a
server when a device redirction is deleted or redircted to
a different server, but only if no other devices are
redirected to the same server.
For example:
NET MAP K: CDRIVE ONE logs into server ONE, then
redirects K: to server ONE.
NET MAP DEL K: deletes the redirection of K: to server
ONE, then checks to see if any other devices (drive letters
or printers) are redirected to server ONE, if not then it
logs out from server ONE.
Netware Lite Commands
---------------------
The following commands can be displayed by typing: NET HELP LITE
NET MAP
Shows current drive letter redirections.
NET MAP <drive letter> <network drive> <server>
(ex. NET MAP K: CDRIVE ONE)
Logs into server then redirects drive letter to network drive on server.
NET MAP DEL <drive letter>
(ex. NET MAP DEL K:)
Deletes redirection of drive letter to server, then checks for other
redirections (drive letters or printers) to the same server. If no
other redirections, then logs out from server.
NET CAPTURE
Shows current printer port redirections
NET CAPTURE (printer port) <network printer>
(ex. NET CAPTURE LPT1 HP-4)
Logs into server that the network printer is attatched to, then redirects
printer port to network printer. If no printer port is specified,
redirects LPT1 to network printer.
NET CAPTURE DEL <printer port>
(ex. NET CAPTURE DEL LPT1)
Deletes redirection of printer port to server, then checks for other
redirections (drive letters or printers) to the same server. If no
other redirections, then logs out from server.
NET SLIST
Lists all server detected on network.
NET WHOAMI
Gives the name of the server you are using.
